Description
'All hail Macbeth that shalt be King hereafter…' With these portentous words, the three witches seal the fate of the Thane of Glamis – and also that of all the others whom Macbeth will dispose of on the way to fulfilling their deadly prophecy. An electrifying new adaptation of Shakespeare’s infamous tragedy and widely studied classic, that retells the old story of the 11th-century Scottish king, and examines the physical and psychological damage done by political ambition – both to those who seek power for its own sake, and to those who get in their way...Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. This adaptation is a tour de force, with such a minimal cast and time! Very well done. And again, the acting was incredible

Very enjoyable. There were a few places where “voices off” didn’t really work well and this would have been helped by having just one more cast member. But on the whole it was very cleverly done. There were some very endearing moments between the Macbeths and some excellent and very intense performances throughout the show.
Highly recommended.

Thoroughly enjoyable. The limitations of a cast of four were minimal in some scene changes becoming noticeable due to a delay in costume changes but many were executed very well.
I appreciated the portrayal of mutual, sincere love between the Macbeths - this is by far the most affectionate portrayal I’ve seen of them and it really lended to the tragedy of their declining mental states and the distance this caused between them.
The stage combat in the final act was exceptionally well choreographed and executed very smoothly.

An excellent adaptation. The opening scene with the three witches augured well. However, despite the quality of the actors, the subsequent acts lost something with a cast of only four women swapping multiple roles, and even genders, between scenes.
