Description

The Thane of Glamis had a wife; their vaulting ambition o’erleaps itself and the Thane takes the throne through dastardly means. But blood will have blood, and the tyrant king must murder more to keep the throne. Deserted by his friends and allies, Macbeth finds himself increasingly weary and alone as he loses his grip on what’s real and what’s not, before finally facing his nemesis, as prophesied by the Weird Sisters. Shakespeare’s most famous supernatural story of witches, ghosts, hallucinations and murders most foul: the Scottish Play in all its gory glory.

Had to watch the Scottish play in Scotland & was not disappointed.
Wonderfully authentic & professional production ,with outstanding performances from Macbeth & Macduff
Such a joy to have the 3 witches actually portrayed as hags- & the play true to the bard.
One of the highlights of my Fringe week

This rendition breathes fresh air into the somewhat overdone works of Shakespeare's Macbeth. James Hay's portrayal of Macduff, for me, deserves additional spotlight. Most remarkably, Hay enshrouds Macduff’s anguish over his family's loss in a breathtakingly intricate tapestry of fury and terror. This adaption of Macbeth is my must see Shakesprearean Work of this Fringe!

The whole show was captivating and engaging to watch. However, the stand out character was Macduff played by James Hay. His performance was emotional and a true pleasure to watch.

Very good effort for an amateur production. Sadly it was unbearably hot at the venue which somewhat spoilt the enjoyment.

A wonderfully professional production. Macbeth and Macduff really stood out as fantastic actors, and Lady Mac certainly portrayed her role with skill and artistic prowess. I would HIGHLY recommend anyone and everyone giving it a view. Well worth the time!

I thoroughly enjoyed my time watching Macbeth. In particular, the actors for Macbeth and Macduff were amazing to watch, both powerhouses in their own right. I can't remember the last time I looked forward to two actors meeting each other in a scene before!
The added comedy pieces were definitely not for me, though the Porter scene was great and a good tension break, I did not think the comedic acting during other scenes was needed. In particular during Lady Macbeth's monologue.
Everything else was fantastic, the combat was great, the background acting was fun to watch. Though, when I think of the play, the scene of Macduff's family keeps coming to mind, very impactful!

The Fringe has always been an educational opportunity to learn. This Macbeth was true to Shakespeare, and I was entertained and educated immensely. Highly recommended

Brilliant, creepy and unsettling performances throughout, the whole cast came together and delivered Shakespeare passionately to the Fringe. The emotional beats especially, hit where they should've and the comic relief did well to keep it fresh. The fight choreography was really good and not something I'm used to seeing on a stage show. Overall a very well put together production from a clearly talented and passionate team Keep it up!

Excellent performance from all the cast of Macbeth.
James Hays portrayal of McDuff was extremely powerful. Would bring a tear to a glass eye.

This was an excellent production of MacBeth. It was every bit as raw as it should be without the distraction of sets or the overuse of unnecessary props. The delivery was captivating. Very well done to the cast and crew, you have done Shakespeare the way it should be done! Thoroughly enjoyed!

"there is something very refreshing about Macbeth’s brevity and lack of set, which allows it to focus right down on the language."
