Description

Lorraine has found a new box to put herself in. DINK life is an alternative way of living. Fantastic, free-wheeling and fun, according to Instagram and TikTok anyway... With freedom to do whatever you want with your life, apart from procreate, finding meaning and purpose can lead to a rollercoaster of adventures and massive indecision. Lorraine has yet to embrace this lifestyle. A humorous look at life choices, love and labels. 'Thoroughly deserves to be seen' (One4Review.co.uk). Wildcard semi-finalist: Amused Moose New Comedian Award 2020. Semi-finalist: British Comedian of the Year 2021.

I bumped into Lorraine as she was handing out flyers in Teviot Square, a quick chat and flirt later I decided to try and go to her show later if I was still around. She is extremely normal and very likeable presenting an hour of comedy and social commentary. There was a good vibe throughout the room and Lorraine easily connects with people. Lots of jokes, along with her heartfelt observations and personal stories. There was a mixed crowd and as a Dad with 28 and 36 year old daughters it was great to hear about a [slightly] older lady enjoying life without kids, not feeling judged nor making judgements, making fun of both or several situations but we all joined in laughing. Lorraine and her partner are being so kind to each other, a great example for all of us.

Excellent, confident delivery and a heartfelt story with a nice twist at the end.

Lorraine Hoodless is endearing, charming, and oh so likeable - in this fun welcoming hour of comedy and social commentary. She creates such a warm vibe throughout the room, naturally connecting with the audience throughout the show. Excellent crowd-work - but without ever making fun of anyone, or making anyone uncomfortable. It's an enjoyable hour discussing the decision to have kids v. not, or perhaps more accurately - discussing the differences in a life with kids versus a life without. Loads of funny jokes, all tucked in between heartfelt observations and personal revelations. Great show if you want to laugh, think a bit about social norms and trends, and leave feeling happy and perhaps a bit silly.

Lovable, honest humour, on the nose in a funky way. Good audience interaction (especially if identify as DINKWAD). Feeling Enlightened.
