Description

Every day at 7pm, Greg Hurst has a little treat. In March of 2020, as the pandemic begins, the treats ramp up. Gay, single, and barreling through his twenties, Greg welcomes lockdown with open arms. He shuts the door to his small New York City apartment, basking in the isolation. But, when personal tragedy collides with collective tragedy, Greg is forced to consider the world beyond his one-bedroom in this hilarious depiction of queerness, isolation, and the simple treats that destroy us and make us whole.

I found this to be an expertly crafted piece. It touches on many subjects which a dealt with brilliantly. The characters are very well drawn as we invited to immerse ourselves into the story. I would recommend this to everyone. It equally intense and cativating. Well done Frank Murdocco.

Frank is a consummate performer. He handles this 50 minute show with perfect timing, depth, energy that never wavers, and excellent craft. This well written piece is gorgeous, exploring all of the complexities we wrestle with as humans struggling to connect with others in a world that is increasingly more isolated. Although we are experiencing an endemic, this show still has so much to give us in terms of the lessons of how to be compassionate to ourselves and to others in honest, heartfelt ways. Loved it. Highly recommend!

A must see at Fringe! Truly captivating from start to finish. Frank Murdocco creates such a vivid world with his story telling that you are fully transported into his reality. He is a true visionary and has star quality that can’t be denied!

This has been a standout show of my time at the fringe! Murdocco executes flawlessly and builds a world so robust you forget there’s only one actor on stage. Using the pandemic as a vehicle and armed with humor, heart, and introspection, A Little Treat speaks to all of us and the active choice we as humans must make to embrace community and keep moving forward, even in the most difficult of times. Don’t miss this show!!!

An amazing show. Such high quality writing and acting. Staging was simple but so effective. One-man-shows are hard to do, but the story and the performance kept the audience engaged the whole time. Loved the complexity of the character and how people around him viewed him vs. how we saw him. Five stars!

Such a thought provoking piece! An amazing talent to bring to life so many characters in one story that felt alive and real in all the right ways.

A captivating, moving, and exquisitely performed rendering of one man's reckoning with his own shortcomings in the isolation of a pandemic. I'm (I think understandably) wary of "COVID art" — with its potential to feel too close, too unprocessed — but this piece smartly uses the pandemic as a backdrop and impetus for introspection. A super-tight script and exceptional character work kept me right there with Greg's journey from beginning to end.

Reflective. Raw. Frank delivers a versatile, powerful performance. He is a master of emotional subtlety. I also adored the nifty sound design associated with the show. Perfect venue for this intimate solo show.

A Little Treat is a small gem of a play, an entertaining, thought-provoking flashback to those strange, stressful months of 2020, and a reminder that we should never take anything for granted.
