Description
A solo show exploring life and light. Delightful, true and entertaining personal stories about being a 71-year-old human. And clown. Gerry’s made a show of himself – again. It’s about being young and being old. He uses storytelling, clowning, song and dance to create a unique hour. You’ll have to see it to believe it. This is Gerry’s most personal show yet as he uses his 'charmingly defiant' style (Chortle.co.uk, 2021) to bring you an uplifting hour. A Dublin childhood, life in the UK – and the science of light and lightness. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. This was the perfect start to a day at the Fringe. Whimsical, gentle storytelling with real humour; Gerry covers everything in this show, from apples to the confessions of a small child via a much bigger conversation about the universe. It's a really lovely way to spend an hour.

Gerry is an inspiring artist that makes people laugh intentionally and unintentionally. His show is an entertaining wonder from a retired gentleman who should be slowing down but is keeping busy with this great show.

Gerry Carroll's stage personna is that of an eccentric but loveable grandpa at whose feet my inner five year old was pleased to sit and receive a whimsical and endearing monologue. On what? Everything really, from the wonders of space, the benefits of confession, memories of beloved parents, changes in the cost of sweets over the last sixty years, the power of love, synchronicity, Jim Morrison, apples....the lot. If you need a break from the fury of the world come and spend an hour with Gerry Carroll and he will patiently make sense of the wonder of it all.
