This was honestly one of the best pieces of theatre I have ever seen. Alex is so engaging and never once lost the audiences intense engagement. He took us on a fun and beautiful journey with humour, enthusiasm, and vulnerability. I hope this play goes places and so does he!

This is a joy. Funny, tender and so engaging. I was on the edge of my seat hoping it would end in the way I wished. Did it? Not saying. I loved it though.

Yet another show where we didn't know what to expect but it's an absolutely brilliant show, well written and incredibly entertaining...

What a brilliant piece of new writing! A terrific and impactfull one man show that had me laughing and crying at the same time. Alex sucks you in and you can't take your eyes off him! Time flies by and what is actually a 50 minute show felt like 15! The direction is phenomenal aswell, the snappyness and smoothness of the piece is a massive compliment to the skill of the director. Truly, the pair have devised something remarkable, 10/10 would definitely recommend to anyone wanting an authentic fringe experience!

Brilliant. This one man show takes you on a real journey through masculinity, acceptance, and identity. The writing is funny when it wants to be, then powerful when it needs to be. Every character that Alex plays feels fully considered, rather than just a bit part in a wider story. It's also great to see something that is so confidently Scottish. Great direction, great writing, and great acting.

A MUST SEE! The story is wonderfully sculpted with a simple but impactful direction and Alex Tait really nailed the performance. It's funny, heartfelt, raw and very relatable. It's a HUGE shame it's only a 1 week run as this really is something special.

This is fringe theatre.

An endlessly entertaining piece of work preformed with excellence by the wonderful Alex Tait. I can't find anything wrong nor would I want to.

SEE THIS BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE!!!

Oh what a fantastic piece of writing! I was blown away by the talent in this production. From Alex’s impressive ability to bounce seamlessly between well-written interesting characters, to the thought-provoking messages which will have you pondering the show way after it’s ended. A special mention must also be given to Ivan, director, who was also on tech. His tech timing was spot on and made the show slick and polished.

If I could rate this a 15/10 I would! A must see this fringe.

Absolutely incredible one-man show that provided a slick and thought-provoking piece of theatre that filled the entire stage. Would highly recommend this fringe!

Utterly wonderful - totally engaging - superbly acted. It’s funny in a spectacular way and oh so poignant! The ending held me in one of those rare and deeply meaningful ways long after the play had finished. Inspirational!! Not to be missed!!

Our top pick of the fringe so far! Well written and expertly performed by Alex. Very funny and totally engaging - a must see. Shame it’s not on longer so that more of our friends can see it through August.

Alex Tait oozes charisma in this funny, fast and point ant piece. It reminds me of the spirit of fringe, so human and so, so silly. I was in love when I saw a preview of it in December and I was not disappointed by the full shabang. Definitely catch this show if you can!

An extremely funny thought provoking show. Every character Alex plays in the show had me laughing out loud as well as thinking about the bigger message that was being portrayed. A must see show at the fringe this year, 10/10

The topics covered in this show are hard to get right sometimes, but this show nails it. Enjoyable comedy front to back and all the issues are shown in a relatable way. All the different characters are played perfectly and switched between effortlessly. A true hidden gem at the fringe and highly recommended if you want a good laugh but also want to think.

One man shows are really hard to get right, bit this one really does get it right. Great characters, a wonderful Scottish sense of humour and a thunderous pace means that this show is enjoyable from start to finish. It's asks important questions at the same time as being thoroughly entertaining. A really terrific show!

Kev Campbell Was He (****)
This one man show has a young working class Glaswegian crosses paths with a gay ,erudite college student who is impressed with his insights into “The Great Gatsby”. I was impressed by the surprisingly subtle approach the story took in dealing with conflicts encountered as the protagonist deals with his possible enlightenment. This is a Glasgow of words and feelings, and not violence.

This is the 9th most enjoyable of the 32 shows I have seen so far at the Fringe this year. I hope to see more than 150 this year. You may see my other three-sentence reviews, in order from most enjoyable to worst, at my non-commercial website: https://fringefan.com/

Saw this fantastic show last night which tackles important issues through incredibly well written characters. It is amazing how this one man show is very funny, with hilarious witty lines, but also has a much deeper storyline in being able to tackle topics like homophobia and toxic masculinity. It’s a must see at the fringe and I guarantee you will be recommending this show to friends and family.

THIS IS THE FRINGE!!! Quite possibly the best one person show I’ve ever seen. Brilliant performance, brilliant production. It’s genuinely hilarious and very powerful - a strong message delivered incredibly skilfully, without hitting you over the head with it. Make sure to go and see this before it undoubtedly goes on to even bigger things!

United in our inability to change the past, Tait’s one-man show is an ode to the jolting fifty-minute Fringe-show spirit, packed with reminders of what our festival is all about.

Kev Campbell Was He is an astounding one man show that brings to the forefront issues that need addressing while also being a love letter to the common “guy” out there that has a passion or a dream. This show is certainly one to get tickets for the year as not many pieces this well put together about such topics come by often.
