Description

For over 30 years Hegley has brought a show to the Fringe with a spattering of favourites, alongside new work, to present to festival-goers. This year 'the new' involves his teaching. And learning. There are interactions – audience participation if you prefer, but it is more audience collaboration. And drawings. Quite a lot of them horses – mouths both open and closed. Myths, moths, no mathematics. Audio and visual stimulation. Entertainment. And thought provocation. Devised for adults but not unsuitable for the odd nine-year-old. 'Awesomely mundane' (Independent). What's not to like about John Hegley. Consummate performer who delights with wit and wisdom in equal measure. An absolutely marvellous must-see show.

Phenomenal show and a must see!

People new to John Hegley will be blown away by the multi-media poetry that hilariously weaves several topics in and around its rapt audience.

As a fan of 20 years standing, this is the best of his shows I have seen, and up there with the greatest Fringe shows ever.

With such subtle mastery, John charms the crowd within seconds of his arrival. We are soon whipped up into enthusiastically joining in with often actually quite complex tasks, but all handled inclusively and with a total feeling of safety.

Just go see it. Trust me.

Five stars on alll counts. He is a complete legend - funny, irreverent, consummate in managing the audience participation. How you make Greek mythology, cat drawings, Luton and mandolin playing funny? … you’ll just have to go to find out. You’ll be glad you did! And it will leave a smile on your face for the rest of the day - maybe longer…
