Description

What's better, sad songs or sh*tty poetry? Meet flatmates Mary and Liz, one a musician and the other a poet, as they battle over integrity, ownership, the spotlight and whose turn it is to buy the freaking toilet roll. As their friendship reaches boiling point, one fateful open-mic night forces them to confront each other over whose right it is to tell someone's story. This two-hander dramedy blends stand-up, song, spoken word, rap and storytelling.

LOVE !! These girls are so talented it will honestly leave you speechless. I was recommended this show by a friend at work and I am so glad I went. As someone who has went through some of the themes they addressed I believe that they were sensitive to the topics. They broke up the scenes with spoken word poetry, singing, dancing, and straight up vibes. It made me proud to be a woman, a feminist and a survivor. I was hooked the whole way through and I was left feeling so empowered. I wish these girls all the best in their future! I would see it again but it was their final show sadly. Definitely a must watch in the future, and I cannot recommend it enough. ♥️

Two clearly talented performers, with some very strong vocals featured. However, felt the story and treatment of themes leant towards cliche in a way that undercut their relevance and impact, and hurt or confused the strengths of the messages about queerness, feminism, and youth. Additionally, serious subject matter is introduced quite late in the play and the resolution feels too quick to be sensitive, leaving the audience to wonder whether it was perhaps more harmful to introduce those themes without adequate time to address them than not to address them at all. Overall, clear talent from both performers and the whole team, but sadly some unrealized potential.

Booked this one last minute using the "shows on nearby" feature. So glad I did, I loved it. Just what I needed.
Think guilty feminist vibes written into a sketch theatre piece.

A well thought out and brilliantly designed show, using innovative set choices and sound design throughout, not to mention the incredible character development by the two actresses. A must-see this Fringe

This show is one of the best things I've seen at the Fringe. The incredible talent of both actors is shown in their chemistry. Immediately believable as flatmates you are sucked into their struggling creative world. They will invite you in with hilarious antidotes to give you the false sense of security before completely breaking your heart. I'm convinced that this is the next Fleabag.

This is a first time for me at Fringe...the first time, I could have sat another hour at least to see what would happen to the characters, how their paths would either stick together or break apart. That is only a clue to how strong the chemistry is between the two performers! The use of music and spoken word showed off their strengths & hats off to the set designer for such a clever way of concept! Congratulations everyone!

Great show, would definitely recommend this one. Very funny but also very powerful and moving, especially at the end, and the acting is amazing.

Such an incredible show. The performances, the atmosphere, the music, the production, the script, it was all just fantastic. So heartfelt and hilarious. A must see

A wonderful, hilarious, uncomfortable blend of feminism, music, poetry and theatre. One of the best things I've seen at the Fringe.

Such a great portrayal of womanhood and the thoughts and realisations we all have. Feminism for people who are unsure of feminism, give it a watch it, it completely changes perspectives, while remaining true to life.
Writing, acting and the use of multimedia throughout the tech and performance is just outstanding.
Really amazing work from these two and the team!
