LAMDA presents the next generation of musical theatre talent in a bold new production of the Tony Award-winning classic. Stephen Sondheim’s wickedly funny musical weaves together beloved characters – including Little Red Riding Hood and Cinderella – for a surprising, subversive and thoroughly contemporary twist on the Tales of the Brothers Grimm. With lyrical ingenuity and dazzling music, Into The Woods will take you on an epic journey to discover what happens when fairy tale figures are faced with truth, consequences and the pain of growing up. I went Into The Woods for the first time with LAMDA’s production: Bravi! Passionate performance, sterling singing, everyone inhabited their characters very, very well.

What an incredible show!! The vocals and the comedic timing were wonderful! The two stand out performances were from Anna Cornish and Antony Lam - such talented performers ! Performers of the future!

The sun shines brightest on a cloudless day.
I had the privilege of seeing the uncut version of this production in London. And boy am I glad. Choices had to be made to fit this version in a time slot and they were brutal. Yes the baker and his wife, the witch and Jake are brilliant and very talented but also very prominent because of the winged storylines of the others.
So hello Mr Woolf I could really eat You. Mr Storyteller I missed your beautiful voice in your song with your son (but I hope you will ditch your pornstar moustache as soon as possible).
Stepmother and Sisters you are hilarious, the Cow even beyond words.
Ah my agonising charming princes, Grandma and Little Red, Jake’s mum, Rapunzel you were sadly left in the woods.
And sometimes a girl who just wants to be herself is seen as a beautiful Princess with the most beautiful voice.
Thank you.
Mutti.

A stunning performance!
Saw the show today and it was a wonderfull experience. From beginning to end it keeps you captivated about what's next.
Seeing all these fairytale characters 'solving' issues one after the other is both interesting and funny. The characters feel alive and many have a lovely twist. The baker and his wife both are fun and convincing to follow through their journey. Cinderella really shined and was amazing to hear, together with her terror birds. Jack growing into a man with his best friend milky white is also wonderfully played. Red riding hood surviving the big bad wolf and becoming street smart thanks to granny was nice as well. Ofcourse the witch and prince's really move the story on nicely.
If you still can would totally recommend this show!

Dreadful performance couldn’t wait to leave. The way the script was cut made little to no sense! Can’t say I was impressed with any of the cast but hopefully they still have a few years left at lamda to improve!

Great performance! The cast exceeded my expectations. Special shout out to the Little red riding she was brilliant. Overall, it was a delightful experience filled with humour.

The entire cast was amazing! The cast brought the classic fairy tale elements to life with a fresh and vibrant energy. My favorites was the Little Red Ridding Hood, she brought an incredible energy to the stage, Her ability to embody her character was impressive, and she delivered her lines with such emotion. Would definitely be seeing it again x

Brilliant show, full of laughs and strong performances by the cast. I really enjoyed the mesh of fairytale stories tinged with twists and intrigues. Brilliant performance from a bright and diverse cast. Had a swell time. Well done.

What an exceptional performance. Deserved a standing ovation without a doubt. This could have been the Westend. Phenomenal. Every single person on the stage can only be described as talented and we were so blessed to see them. The witch was charismatic, engaging and just brilliant. Baker’s wife, Cinderella exceptional voices. Normally with musical theatre they can either act or sing. This whole cast did both with brilliance. My students will be writing a theatrical review for their Advanced Higher folio and they will have much to write about but nothing to criticise. Thank you so much.

Utter brilliance! Such a fabulous show. Some really refreshing takes on the character, namely the Witch. She is seriously one to watch out for in the future. I also loved the baker and little red: I thought they real breathed new leases of life into their characters.
The lack of interval and the cuts are definitely not for everyone but the standout cast make it all worth while. I'd love to come back and see the other cast tomorrow but you've sold out! Much deserved. Congratulations!

The most impressive thing about this production was just how strong the whole cast were. For a new course the standard was brilliant.
It would be great to see future year groups given a larger venue to really flex their muscles rather than being restrained by what was undeniably a fringe space.
LAMDA - well done. Greenside - trust them next year, they delivered.

The show was one of the highlights of our Fringe experience. There was something for everyone: the girls swooned and giggled at the Princes, and the fantastic comic timing of Charlie and Daniel had us all laughing. For the adults, the impeccable performances by the leads—Matthew, Caitlin Jane, and Katie—were on par with shows we've seen on the West End. The entire ensemble sounded fantastic together, and in such a small space, their voices really made an impact. We’d highly recommend this production.

Brilliant performance with the highlights being Luke Capello as Jack and Antony Lam as the Wolf (who also played the violin in the show!). I greatly enjoy Anna Cornish as Milky White as well, and a shout out to the vocal performance of Regina Co as Rapunzel. A fun take on the classic Sondheim piece!

What a fantastic production! Saw the show yesterday and can happily say LAMDA has created a fresh, modern take of this beloved musical. The cast really tapped into the humanity of each character and moved beyond the traditional caricatures most other productions convey of the infamous fairytale characters. I also loved the use of microphones to tell the story.
Avery’s Witch and McFarland’s Baker were the true stand outs for me. The emotional complexities both performers showed in Stay With Me and No More respectively were incredibly tearjerking. Harmonies were lovely and the ensemble was really strong overall. I would absolutely recommend everyone to go see it for an afternoon treat!

”A cut script makes little sense!” I have seen around 16 productions of this, my favourite musical. This was the worst. Most of the cast are fine, although there are two exceptions who let the rest down, but the real let down is whoever decided to mess around with the script. If you lose the character of his father, why and how does the Baker lose and then regain the coins? Other advice is missing, as is Jack's song to Milky White and everyone's sayings at the end of each day. Having the lighting change in the middle of most lines was considered far more important. A short way into this one, I knew this year's other production would be much better. It was.

Wow! What an amazing show! I have been to see many west end shows and this was right up there! Such an entertaining 2 hours and so much talent! We went as a family and it was our favourite fringe show! Go and see it if you can!

This show is amazing! I came with four friends this afternoon and was blown away. The cast were outstanding and the music was great. If you have a free two hours at lunchtime over the next few weeks, go and support this cast :)

A wonderful show!! This is a very original piece of into the woods but also staying with the trueness of the show, which I appreciated. Everyone vocally was absolutely on it and especially physicality wise. Some of my favourite moments are the Wolf playing the violin, vocals, and the intensity they gave was a highlight for me. All of them had amazing chemistry with each other and played off of eachother.
I definitely recommend this show and was one of the best shows I saw at the fringe this year.

A fantastic show. The whole company amazingly talented, the musicianship excellent and Caitlin Jane Williams as The Witch and Anthony Lam as the Wolf particularly outstanding and memorable . Don’t miss this show and you can say in future you saw them before they were famous!

Great performances by the cast who were articulate , musically strong and took the show through without dropping a note or step. Loved the fact that they could present the story and work within such a small stage with minimalist props . The pianist was excellent and the stage lighting worked effectively for the woods and key angles . A fellow audience member shared that every cast member contributed their part fully and she and her family would love to see the group perform again at next year’s fringe . Another person said that the production could go on tour ! Well done to the cast , director and all involved

This was my first encounter with this show and I'm not a musical nut. It was fantastic start to finish. Great staging and choreography, and superb vocal performances. Genuinely cannot fathom some of the negatives some people have called out here. Go and see it but do be aware there's no interval - go for a wee beforehand!

Amazing fun performance and very well received by all the audience. The actors made you laugh and cry. So well done and enjoyable. The Baker and the Bakers wife had such chemistry, it was a joy to watch. Well done to all

I really didn't enjoy this at all and wish I'd left half way through as three audience members did today. The show itself was mind numbing, half the actors had American accents (not set in the states is it?), half didn't and half switched between the two. The person playing the witch was very, very good but the rest were not at the standard I would have expected from a prestigious drama school. This is way too long to sit through unless you are a die hard Into the Woods fan or a friend of the cast. The audience was not full and I really wish I'd had the guts to leave too.

Wow! Absolutely fantastic - so much talent in the cast! Caitlin Jane Williams was superb as the witch - the singing and acting was all five star. Would thoroughly recommend. Can't wait to see what this cast do in the future!

Absolutely amazing performance! My kids (8 & 10) loved it. 10 year old's eyes didn't move from the stage once. Her highlight of the whole festival has been this and that Cinderella winked at her. The cast were all fabulous, especially the witch. Be warned there is no interval though!!

This show is superb! These talented performers work great as an ensemble and LAMDA should be proud. Stand out performances from The Witch and both Princes, well done all and good luck for the rest of your run!

Great fun, excellent performances - both acting and singing and good comic timing. Its quite long but never drags with snappy scene changes and a quick pace. My kids had great time. Only quibble was the spotlight that regularly shines in the audience's eyes - a bit annoying at times.

Different than good - all but two of the large cast are very good and the basic material is obviously great, but it's been messed with for no good reason. So an important song has been cut, one character has been cut (but two roles normally played by the same actor have different ones, so it wasn't a shortage of actors) , and a bunch of lines have gone. Among some other odd choices, what's been added the weak song from the film and lots of lighting cues - changes in the lighting. In a show that's 115 minutes long (no interval!) there are over 550 lighting changes. It's supposed to be a musical, not a disco...

Simply superb - better than West End shows we have seen! The quality runs throughout the cast and it oozes class. You have made LAMDA proud. Go…… watch………enjoy!
