Description

A dance theatre production exploring the perpetual cycles that bind our existence. Blending dance, film and verbatim sound derived from live interviews. It weaves inspirations from Tibetan spiritual practice to the vibrancy of Japanese pop from Dip in the Pool. This performance invites you to navigate the circle's dual nature: a tiresome loop or a gateway to enlightenment and introspection, offering a spiritual insight into the intricacies of life, growth and transformation, generating a dialogue between the symbolism of circles in cultures across the globe. As you traverse this circular path, ponder the ultimate destination it unveils.

I have came for this show for three times. And I cannot avoid my overwhelming tears still.
For art, for the beauty, for the eternal joy from this piece.
The pure transition of art in a round created by this team. Everyone works so well. And the video between is so delightful matching and hinting this theme of round.
Well done!Yuxi and Luca! And congrats to everyone who are involved in this amazing project! Can’t wait to watch it again soon!

In The Round is pure artistry. Abstract and varied with some of the most beautiful movement and dance that I personally, have ever seen. The way they explore the circle and it’s relevance to our inner selves, our historical patterns, our relationships with others and with ourselves took my breath away. Absolutely stunning.

It was totally amazing ❤️ I really loved every moment, I was moved by the performance, it was beautiful and showed do much vulnerability, it made me think about my life in a circle rather than a straight line and what was my future to be!
Honestly, the most moving inspirational choreography and beautiful dancers I’ve seen in a long time! Do not miss this…I can’t wait to see the next instalment!

Totally engrossing and beautifully Choreographed. It felt like dancers created a visual harmony on stage. There were also subtle characterful moments which I loved. Would very much recommend giving it a watch!

I find the dance spiritual, poetic, and stunning. The idea of the round is exhibited at various scales. There are collisions between Tibetan traditions and modern life experiences. There are intertwined lifestyles between two independent spirits. Some parts of the dance are also religious, tracing back to the Buddhist interpretation of the life circles. Amazingly, they can combine all these elements through their elastic bodies. The choreography is very successful.

The two dancers were beautiful and versatile, each movement full of rhythm and movement, let me feel the charm and beauty of the dance now.

Stunning performance, with vibrant and vulnerable imagery. It's like watching someone's unique life experience that is resonates with you because it is also universal. The choreography and storytelling of this piece are breathtaking and oh so inspiring for others with its bold and brave artistic choices. Had a delightful experience watching it! *****

I don’t watch a lot of dance, but I found this piece mesmerising & accessible for a variety of audiences. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this incredibly talented duo. Add this to your Fringe calendar while there is still time.

Like witnessing a mesmerising and beautiful dream. Thought-provoking and visually stunning, definitely a show you want to catch before the Fringe is done.

Poetry of the best sort, in motion. Into the Round transports you somewhere else, a meta physicality of trying, seeking connections, losing and gaining over and over again. Oh my goodness, the interplay too of the filmed sequence in the labyrinth coupled with an original score...these two dancers show us their wounds from living in such a spiral of disconnection somehow without words. So powerful, beautiful and moving. Takes the language of dance into a new stratosphere. A fellow audience-member and I had a good cry afterwards in the ladies' toilet...about "the secret 5 minutes"...
"The great challenge is living your wounds through instead of thinking them through. It is better to cry than to worry, better to feel your wounds deeply than to understand them, better to let them enter into your silence than to talk about them." Henri Nouwen The Inner Voice of Love
I'm so grateful I got to see this.

This show was brilliant, 5/5 Stars.
The theme—circles—is both simple and deep, it describes natural properties of the universe, but is also deeply human-centric, psychological and introspective, in how these two exceptionally talented young choreographers actualised it on stage. There's a reason we speak of 'life cycles'. I don't want to spoil anything, so let me just say: This piece has it all, Japanese avant-pop, Tibetan bells and modern sci-fi whistles, authenticity, beauty in movement, and most importantly heart and emotion. Half the time you are amazed by the beautiful choreography unfolding on stage. The other half, you it becomes the mirror through which you see yourself. A highly circular piece.

First of all, two amazing performers with a lot of energy, great stage presence and strong dance technique. Elastic bodies that move with such precision! The piece invites us to think about the dialogue between different cultures. Adventure, confusion and wonderment alternate through time in circular patterns. There are five sections, each of which explores different aspects of the theme through use of different movement styles, costumes and soundtrack. One of the sections also includes a very well performed and filmed video piece. Don't miss this wonderful performance. It offers a unique experience that will stay with you for a long time.
