Description

Contemporary circus, dance and sound art weave a personal and emotional journey through the beauty and pain of letting go! At the centre: the Cyr wheel. Powerful, stirring, fragile. Hanschitz and Beierer surrender to the process of letting go. The mood changes between calm balance, loss of control and floating lightness. From raw sounds to fine beats, a live soundscape is made from the Cyr wheel itself, in a circle of surrender, holding on and becoming free. 'A small masterpiece with a massive metal hoop and a shrewd musician' (Der Standard).

This one divided opinion a bit in our group. A cyr wheel show about the art of letting go, with a soundtrack made from sounds from the cyr wheel itself. I thought it was quite good and it really showcased the idea of letting go. It's quite different to what I was expecting but worth a watch.

Amazing physicality and skill combined with artistry and creativity. It made for a mesmerising spectacle. Recommended.

Beautiful. Brilliant. I got lost in the movement and the music.

I was afraid that that a cyr wheel wouldn’t support a 50 minute show without outstaying its welcome. I was wrong. The cyr wheel here is combined with avant-garde music and contemporary dance, all constructed and executed with such skill that it leaves you wishing for another ten minutes.

The show has moments of intensity and drama, and moments where you just get lost in the atmosphere. I found my mind wandering at times, not because I was bored, but because the show had taken me to a relaxed, meditative state and my brain suddenly had space to process things. I came into this show somewhat anxious about various things in my life, and appropriately, I found myself letting go.

Highly recommended. I will remember this show for years.
