Description
I Am Yours Sincerely is the true, untold story of John Cox, a member of the Special Operations Executive during the Second World War. This play goes through his life, from university student to soldier to spy. This year marks the 80th anniversary of his first mission parachuting into France. John Cox is also Ed’s step-grandfather and after hearing his story was moved to create this solo show. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. I went to see this as my Dad was in the special forces in the war. It was wonderful and brought tears to me eyes. Well done!

A beautifully written play performed superbly by Ed. From the minute we entered the theatre we were transported to his time and place and were immersed in his journey until the very end. Wonderful storytelling which left me and others teary eyed and nostalgic as we left the theatre. Well done Ed … we loved it! X

This young actor Ed Saunders-Lee will go far. He was captivating from the start with a truly dramatic, energetic, and yet touching performance based on the true WW2 stories of his step-grandfather. He not only performed it beautifully, but also wrote it. He obviously has loads of talent. A truly impressive performance and best of my Fringe so far.
I have to add that the extremely hot room it is performed in added not a little genuine sweat to the portrayal of Burmese jungle warfare. I predict he will not only be a sell-out, but will lose weight into the bargain.
Well worth the heat! Bring a fan but don't miss it.

This is a beautiful, touching show. Charmingly performed by a young actor who was able to give a different perspective on a young soldier going off to serve a bigger mission. I'm not usually a fan of WW2 drama (went with a friend), but I was moved, impressed and am grateful I went.

Very energetic, engaging performance, telling a story based on real events of a relative. Really draws you in to an emotional ending, would 100% recommend this show, one of the best, if not THE best we've seen this Fringe Festival.

A true story told beautifully- I was emotional by the end of it!!! Ed is an incredible storyteller, and I felt like he really brought pieces of the past into the present moment--like I was traveling back in time to watch the story unfold--it was really, really powerful. The sound design and writing were flawless. This play is so touching- highly recommend.

This show was breathtaking. Beautifully written and beautifully acted. You are able to follow the complex story beautifully even as a one man show. Ed and the show excel on their own! Go see it!!

An amazing story told superbly. The intensity of the performance was literally visible in the sweat pouring out of the storyteller. Only on for this week so book now.

This theatrical tour de force is a must see. The author/actor transforms his stage with subtlety, wit, warmth and brilliant pacing including a fury of intensity leaving both my wife and me, and most audience members, breathless. Pardon my alliteration but his acting creates such a visceral reaction it must demonstrate that he truly created this personal piece from a place of passion welling deep in his soul. Bravo!

The show is a brilliant telling of an inspirational true story, written beautifully and acted fantastically. I was welling up at the end, solely down to Ed’s (writer and performer) superb storytelling skills. Deffo a show to see and look out for in the future!
