Description

Being single in her mid-twenties… how hard can it be? Post-breakup, Tilly jets off on a girls’ trip to Barcelona and impulsively lands a job in London. Leaving behind her small-town life in Scotland, she dives into her new life, and begins the treacherous journey of navigating life in The Big Smoke. She plans a summer like no other but the reality is far from the Pinterest board she has envisioned. Throwing herself into a whirlwind of Hinge dates she faces blatant misogyny whilst coming to terms with many of her insecurities. Hilariously tragic and amusingly relatable.

Just went to see this a few hours ago on evening of 23.8.24. We were a party of 3 girls. We all thoroughly enjoyed the show. It felt like a well crafted, well acted play with loads of hysterical moments to weave a funny, relatable portrait of a young girl’s life living in London. Loved it!

Shows like this are exactly what the Fringe should be about. Grassroots theatre that displays incredible up and coming talent, Isla Fairfield wrote and performs in this one woman show and absolutely shines; the script is tight, funny and moves at an amazing pace making the sharp 45 minutes fly by. The acting is top tier, every joke and dramatic landed perfectly - I honestly can’t say enough good stuff about this show. Easily one of the best things I’ve seen this fringe, do yourself a favour and catch it before it finishes on Saturday, you won’t regret it.

Literally could not stop laughing! A comedic but also emotional performance about navigating life as a single 20-something in the big city. If honest & relatable comedy is your thing, this is definitely for you. Grab a pint of T and settle in to listen to Tilly’s story x

I took a chance getting tickets to the show after only seeing a single TikTok from Isla & let me tell ya, she did not disappoint! My partner went in blind & was laughing the entire show. Isla’s storytelling was heart-felt, relatable & hilarious. If you’re evening slightly considering going to check out Hot Girl Summer, get your tickets immediately, you won’t regret it.

Funny, engaging and thought provoking new work from Isla Fairfield, who invests Tilly with energy and a lot of heart. The show doesn’t shy away from taking on the challenges of daring to be a young woman in the 21st century with the weight of your own expectations let alone the expectations of men who treat internet dating like a Build a Bear workshop for sexual partners, but it is more than a riff on the trials & tribulations of dating in London. Isla’s range helps the audience connect quickly with Tilly and root for her, lending an emotional weight to the show that means the incredible dance moves aren’t the only thing that’ll stay with you.
