Yola Jean Lu's "Help! My Vagina Is Trying to Kill Me!" is a such a moving piece! We were so moved seeing this show! We laughed, we cried, we learnt, we listened, we came away uplifted and rearing a desire to champion gynecological healing for all! See this show!

To all vagina owners - this is a MUST SEE! It’s not just a comedy, it’s a cathartic experience that leaves you laughing, reflecting and ultimately, feeling seen. Yola somehow balances the raw vulnerability with humour effortlessly. Book your ticket !!

Great show!! Yola takes you through her journey and makes you laugh along the way. Such and endearing performer, and an honest and often hilarious look at topics not talked about often enough. Check it out!

This show was the event of the fringe for me this year. For someone to step up on stage an open up their soul to room full of strangers is genuinely one of the most amazing things we can do as humans. HMVITTKM really takes you on a journey and you feel every bump on the road as of it was your own journey. It's powerful it's funny and for a lot of people it is relatable

If you’re a woman or someone who cares about women, Yola’s show is for you. Her story is so masterfully woven with genuineness, and her engaging performance holds you onto a safe journey filled with laughters and tears. The Asian experience of womanhood is so underrepresented and I’m incredibly thankful that the show offered a lot of catharsis for my experiences growing up in an East Asian household. I also had the pleasure of getting to know Yola during Fringe and she is one of the most sincere and supportive human being I’ve ever met. Make sure to say hi to her after the show if you get a chance!

Vulnerable, dark comedy. Yola is a skilled storyteller. I’ve learned so much. As an Asian woman I could relate to her story. I learned a lot about women’s health. I think we need more shows like this - entertaining and “practical” in a way that it teaches the audience something that is a social issue but not addressed often.

I am in awe of the vulnerability, warmth and humour that Yola led with in this show. It takes courage and skill to make an audience gasp, laugh and cry in only a couple moments. Thank you for your bravery, your heart, humour and radiant show!!

Yola crafted an important solo show with vulnerable stories and raw feelings. It's bold and related to topics that are not widely discussed and many audience members have went up to Yola after the show and shared their experience. The connection Yola made from stage to the audience is genuine and authentic - and will leave many audience members remember the show after the curtain goes down.

Beautifully honest and funny. I laughed and cried and felt all the emotions of the talented Yola Lu! This force of a human graciously presents her real story!

Yola’s story is so moving and she delivers it in such a compelling and powerful way. Despite it’s heavy subject matter, you feel as if you are in safe hands as she leads you through her trials with lightness and warmth. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a truly poignant performance – this is by far the most authentic and raw bit of stand-up I’ve seen at the fringe this year.

YOLA ! An important story and a genuine soul. I have suffered as a woman from some of the topics Yola gets vulnerable about, and it made me feel very seen. ❤️

Absolutely 5 stars. Informative, emotional, and somehow funny throughout, Yola's bravery and honesty is to be admired as she tackles subjects rarely talked about, but which are so important to so many. An absolute must see - you will laugh, you will cry, but you won't regret buying a ticket!

An absolute masterclass in performing. A trilogy of important and raw stories that will leave you simultaneously crying and laughing out loud!

This show tells such an important story, with Yola's welcome honesty breaking down boundaries of shame and guilt that are too strong within the world today. I came out of this show shocked at how ignorant I had been and so grateful to have heard the story that was told. This is an important show for everyone, a brave telling of many small stories that every woman will have some relation to.

Yola's show is so important and her stories are so raw (and real!) but somehow packed with so many funny and dark jokes. Most of all, I loved her message of supporting those with vaginas! Don't miss it!

Yola has crafted a wonderful narrative of my-vagina-from-hell stories, in a way that is personable and poignant, all peppered with her caustic yet endearing sense of humor. She weaves difficult topics together with ease, championing women's health, personal boundaries, body acceptance, and ties it all up in a wonderful ending that makes us all feel like we're rooting for her and each other.

I'm so grateful for this show's candor and service to the world. Yola's show has heart and gut-wrenching honesty. I left feeling good!

This show is absolutely beautiful. It’s chock full of hopefulness and perseverance. Yola’s kindheartedness shines through the personal retelling of her story. We had the pleasure of catching her after the performance and getting to chat with her and her good nature isn’t a facade for the stage she truly is an Angel. I couldn’t recommend this show enough.

Yola is brilliant! She takes you on a journey through various stages of her life as she tells a story of the different ways her vagina has tried to kill her. It is clear that this is an emotional experience, but she manages to keep her composure and talk so eloquently that you’ll be engaged throughout. It was a real pleasure getting to meet her!! So beautiful and raw - go see this show!

Please go and see this show. Absolutely spoken from the heart, you'll laugh, you'll cry but most of all you'll love it...

Kayleigh Benham 30 days ago

Yola is a talent. To talk about something to raw and personal in such a gentle, enticing way is no small feat. She enters conversation territory that is, to some, taboo and maybe even uncomfortable, and does so in a way that would make the most unsure audience member invested, understanding, and eager to better their knowledge. Sat next to my best friend, both crying, both enthralled, felt like a really beautiful, important moment. A show to take ur girls to. A show to make you feel heard.
She deserves so much. See this show!!!!

This show was absolutely beautiful. Yola has a natural talent for storytelling and I was enthralled by her every word. From start to finish, I felt a plethora of emotions and was touched my Yola’s authenticity and vulnerability on stage. The show captures the very essence of being a woman, and how it is nearly impossible to navigate the endless possibilities of life. The show ends on a hopeful and encouraging note, recognising that there is light at the end of the tunnel. This show reminds the audience to look out for others and to advocate for themselves. A must see!

very funny and very honest and vulnerable. an important show that i think everyone should see!

Patrick O'Connell 32 days ago

This is a phenomenal piece of work. Yola manages to balance talking about important issues as well her own personal trauma with a consistent stream of jokes in a way that only she could do. It's funny, it's powerful, it's dark, it's rich. You need to see this show.

She asserts it is the responsibility of women to stand up for themselves, and for one another. A subtle yet heartfelt show that will resonate with women who have had similar experiences.
