Description
Trust, truth, and tequila. Could you date someone of the opposite class? Does class actually determine politics? What happens when the patriarchy walks into a bar? Hang on, this was meant to be funny... After a preview showcase at Bristol Old Vic in June, this new play by Jessie Millson follows a queer relationship blasted apart by politics and pranks. We are placed between worker and slacker, between filthy rich and stinking poor, between staying or going as the bar between Charity and Lois becomes a bigger and bigger boundary. Heartbreaking and profound. Very cleverly written exploring class and queer relationships. Lead character is played perfectly and makes the audience feel every bit of desire, frustration and longing

Lordie, lordie, so recognisable, understandable, funny and really sad.
So glad I came to watch it tonight despite of the rain, traffic and other obstacles.
The great show, everyone takes away something valuable.

This was a wonderful show. Funny, emotional and thought-provoking. The actors embodied their roles and were engaging and convincing throughout.

This work explores modern queer relationships, while also tapping into class difference, and ultimately how society affects all the decisions we make in love and life. I was impressed with the sharp writing of this piece and the execution of all the actors to live in the world of these circumstances. The subtleties of the actors make this well worth the watch!

Saw this yesterday. Excellent writing about thought provoking themes of status, sexuality, class and what work means…. Funny at many points and darker at others. Another great follow up play from Jessie Millson writer of last Edinburgh’s “Pressure Cooker”. Highly recommend.

This sharp piece tells the ill feted love affair between co-workers Lois - hard working and working class and Charity - flighty and upper middle class, whose job at the bar is a bit of a laugh for pocket money. Pacy and well-acted, the show has some laugh out loud moments as well as some devastating punches to the gut. Strongly recommend this show
