Description
Five would-be somebodies find themselves united in Hell, part of a trial run to solve Hell’s oncoming population problem. Faced with a poker match with the devil’s right-turned dealer – the one and only Joan Crawford – these women must vie against each other for a spot in Heaven, all while contending sins, histories, sexual identity, and their own dispensability... because in this game, winning is more than eternity – it is fame. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. The concept is interesting but its the strong cast really make this show. The characters were skillfully and vividly brought to life, with impressive and convincing accents and detailed backstories. The performer playing Joan led the piece excellently but the whole cast brought fantastic and detailed performances. I really enjoyed the LGBTQ+ take on the 'stuck in hell' plot. At times this show reminded me of Caryl Churchill, at times Huis Clos, but ultimately it felt like a fresh and entertaining take on the genre.

What a show! Made me laugh, made me think, made me wonder what Joan Crawford would be like in hell. Highly recommend. Don’t miss it!

This is a must see show. It has everything—love, death, the Devil and Joan Crawford. IA weird, campy queer, moving and philosophical show. A show that you will be discussing for days after seeing it. We are!!
