Description

It's the 10-year high school reunion. A time to discuss forgotten dreams, reunite with lost friends, and maybe lose your shit when you reconnect with the one. 'Alibec has a super energy as both an actor and a writer' **** (Scotsman). 'Incredibly funny with a darkly sarcastic worldview' ***** (BroadwayWorld.com). Drenched in edgy dark humour, the show sheds light on the intricate facets of the mother-daughter relationship amidst the challenges of living abroad, sporadic reunions, shattered dreams from youth, and the void that forms when there have been so many things left unsaid.

This is one of those shows that will stick in your head after you see it. So strong, sad and powerful. Yet funny in a way life needs to be to be able to keep living. Edith is an amazing one of a kind actress. It's incredible how one can feel such a wide range of emotions in such a short timeframe. One of my favourite shows at Fringe this year!

It's the first time I watch a one man show, the show was unique, with a vivid narrative, sometimes explosive, sometimes giving unexpected emotions and experiences. It is a life story taken from the Romanian daily life, I have retraced nostalgia and long-forgotten memories. An exceptional performance, thank you Edit Alibec for an exceptional afternoon.

A really compelling show - funny, harrowing, honest. Edith kept the whole audience spellbound for an hour. She's a great actress and writer - catch her before she's famous.

Been coming to Fringe for 12 years and seen many single performer shows. This was the best I remember and my first ever review. She's a brilliant actress and will be famous one day!

Wow! A truly remarkable show. A one hour monologue that made us laugh & cry. Edith really connected with every audience member & delivered a very powerful performance. We would give this 5 stars *****

I loved this piece of theatre. The actor had such command of her material and communicated deep, intimate experiences with much vulnerability and feeling.

I absolutely loved Edith’s one woman show which I found both very funny and deep. I loved it so much actually that I went twice. The show is mostly about a mother daughter relationship and how emotions are so hard to communicate between children and parents that acting out is some of the time the default mode - which is destructive for the character but very funny for the audience.

Towards the end however, not being able to take refuge in humor and denial, the character breaks down into a very powerful catharsis which Edith delivers with outstanding proficiency. I am also a person who finds it difficult to feel his feelings but the performance was so good I could feel the way I myself relate with parents and that was beautiful.

On top of that I laughed myself to death and even sometime wondered whether I should laugh or cry which definitely added to the roller coaster of emotions throughout the show. It’s impressive how all this breadth of feeling is delivered in a very simple way with most of intensity coming out while the character is on a chair or standing.

Truly beautiful and highly recommend.

It’s a powerful performance of an eloquent text, and we get to know the heart of the character with great insight and emotion.
