Description

Aki Remally (vocals, guitar) and Fraser Urquhart (piano, keyboards) make their return to the Edinburgh Festival Fringe! They delve deep into the work of the revolutionary poet, jazz musician and rap pioneer whose lyrics expressed views on politics, culture and social injustice – expect a whole lotta funk, jazz and soul tunes from Gil Scott-Heron’s repertoire. Also featuring the powerhouse rhythm section of Max Popp (drums) and Tom Wilkinson (bass).

Another virtuoso performance by four very talented and engaging musicians who blend seamlessly to perform a superbly curated selection from Gil Scott Heron's songbook.
Aki Remally (vocals, guitar), Fraser Urquhart (piano, keyboards), Max Popp (drums) and Tom Wilkinson (bass) are masters of their trades, each wonderful to watch and listen to, and this session showcases their talents.

The superlative musicianship and the group’s alchemy with Gil Scott Heron’s poetry make this an annual must-see for devotees and new comers alike. Best of the Fringe!
