Description

Philip Adie delivers a solo performance of stunning beauty, bringing the evocative sound of flamenco from Andalucía with his virtuosic playing. Describing the show as 'a love letter to Andalusia', Rosie Morton of Scottish Field Magazine rates it 4.5 stars, dubbing it one of her all-time favorites at the Fringe: 'it’s always a privilege to watch someone who is a master of their craft'. Adie, a Seville-based Aberdonian clearly steeped in his adopted culture, tells very interesting and evocative tales that surround the music he plays, giving an insight into the culture and history of flamenco.

Brilliantly intense flamenco guitar playing. Philip goes to great lengths to explain the origins of the music he's playing. Great venue, very intimate and (if you book ahead) the chance of some great Spanish food afterwards. My favourite fringe show of our annual whistle stop 5 shows in the day visit this year to Edinburgh. Thanks Phillip. Class act

Along with the FlamencoDanza event this is also a must see if you enjoy flamenco music. Superb performance by Philip Adie, great sound and clever (and subtle) use of effects as well. Thoroughly recommended. Also the Alba venue is idea for this type of music (and their restaurant is also recommended - excellent food!). Even if you don't normally listen to flamenco give it a try!

I had the great pleasure of seeing Adie perform at Fringe in 2023. It was a fabulous performance full of folk history of the music and tunes. Adie is a brilliant musician. Don't miss this!
