Description

Two siblings feel disconnected from life in their rural hometown. Online, 16-year-old James finds solace in a community of struggling young men. Sasha, his older sister, is adopted by a house of like-minded queer friends looking for a better life. But as James is drawn deeper into his online world, love between the siblings is stretched to breaking point, and Sasha is faced with a choice between her old and new families. From the company behind Dazzling ('Gen-Z's answer to Fleabag' **** (Scotsman)) comes a contemporary exploration of patriarchy, love and the internet.

Fix Your Mind follows 16-year-old James into early adulthood. His inability to interact with his female contemporaries causes sexual frustration, leading to misogynistic online activity, which is shown on a screen during scene changes. The intense drama arising from this revolves around his relationship to the other characters, notably his lesbian sister Sasha. The production is effective due to the strength of the performances, although the latter part of James's journey isn't entirely clear.

Even if you find the heavy-drama plot has some ups and downs, let yourself be convinced by great performances!

Absolutely agree with the previous review- intense and gripping, but with a deft touch and much more well judged humour than you might expect from the description. Superb cast, beautiful writing. A must see!

The description of this show does not give it justice. Intense and well performed, tackling a modern problem of masculinity and sexuality.

it's the most current and disturbing play I've seen in a long time.
