Description
Jamie New is 16 and doesn’t quite fit in. Instead of pursuing a traditional career, he dreams of becoming a drag queen. Uncertain about his future, Jamie knows one thing for sure – he's going to be a sensation. Supported by his loving mother and amazing friends, Jamie overcomes discrimination and bullying to step out of the darkness – and into the spotlight. Following last year’s five-star production of The Addams Family, Forth Children’s Theatre are proud to be bringing this West End hit to Fringe 2024. ***** (CorrBlimey.co.uk). ***** (AllEdinburghTheatre.com).Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Happened to be at the train station on Wednesday evening and saw a few cast members at the piano. So decided to go and see the show. I was NOT disappointed. Omg what a brilliant performance by all the cast. Loved every minute and Jamie was a star. My favourite song though was He’s my boy sang beautifully by his mother. Well done everyone involved. I will be looking out for future shows.

Once again Forth Children’s Theatre have excelled, this is a superb production which is as good as any West End Cast.
The entire young cast bring such passion and reality to the show and the story of diversity and inclusion is well told.
All the leads are amazing especially a stand out Jamie , Margaret, Hugo and Pretty.
Best show in Fringe

Forth Children’s Theatre have a reputation for putting on 5 star shows, and ETAJ is no exception! Show stopping performances all round, with special mention to the choreography and dancers who were SUBLIME. This is a must see feel good show for this years fringe! What a show!! The themes and emotions within this show could have been difficult to convey or simply glossed over by such a young cast, but this incredibly talented youth company handle it all with aplomb. In addition to the professional-standard singing & dancing, they’ve created wonderful, well-rounded characters and give deeply sensitive & moving performances. We were blown away by the talent on display here, they have bright futures ahead! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT!!!
The venue is great, with easy parking. The venue volunteers are very helpful.
The show is spectacular, Jamie is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The dancing is top drawer and the singing matches it. Jamie's mum is fantastic.
Well done to the team for putting this together and giving those kids the opportunity to perform as part of the Festival.

I was curious to see how Everybody's Talking About Jamie would translate as a teen edition: the answer is very well, and this staging by Forth Children's Theatre is excellent. Casting many of the roles close to the age of the characters in the script adds a weight and verisimilitude to moments that really resonates, and the production is likewise impressive.
The staging is superb as is the music and lighting. This is ambitious stuff and the audience was rightly laughing and cheering in all the right places. Whether this is your first time seeing the play courtesy of the Festival Fringe or you're familiar with it already, this is well worth your time. The script is funny, the music catchy, and this confident staging means you'll leave remembering why everybody's talking about this musical.

Amazing!!
It might be a teen edition but there is nothing juvenile about this show. A wonderful mixture of humour and heartfelt emotion with wonderful dances and songs. I’d highly recommend this.
