Description
The Radio 4 regular kicks down the rotting doors of power with his trademark blend of anarchic wit, satirical verse and dazzling Weltschmerz. Metaphorically, obvs. He's really on the sofa drinking cocktails with his cat. 'Righteous ire directed at very deserving targets' **** (Guardian). 'Funny, angry, tightly written quick-fire verse' **** (Scotsman). 'Tack-sharp humour and uncompromising politics. Hilarious' **** (List). 'Wonderfully acerbic, exactly the sort of thing the Fringe was made for' **** (ThreeWeeks). 'Astute observation, thrilling hyperbole, utterly hilarious' ***** (EdFestMag.com). 'Beautifully worded invective and brilliant wit' ***** (BritishTheatreGuide.com).Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Second time seeing Elvis McGonagall & he didn’t disappoint. A true wordsmith & poet with left leanings. The most elegant of rants about the Tories, the state of politics & our country. Laugh out loud funny & really worth seeing.

Such an accomplished wordsmith. Sums up 14 years of Tory mayhem in a funny, insightful, clever, poignant and powerful way which made me laugh from start to finish despite the somewhat bleak subject matter. Absolute genius. Could listen for hours.

This show made my day. An absolutely spot on analysis of the world today delivered beautifully, comically, wittily and some parts with such poignancy. I laughed (cried a wee bit too) for the entire hour. Thank you so much Elvis McGonnagall - not least for reminding me about The Wombles!

I had never heard of this Elvis before and booked the show on the basis of his name. We then spent an hilarious hour in the company of a fantastic left wing poet and wordsmith.
His rants about Boris, Sunak and Truss were spot on.
Full on for an hour. Funniest show we have seen this Fringe.
Bought his book.

This is absolutely brilliant. His poems are very clever & funny & the verbal virtuosity with which he links them is amazing. Well worth seeing.
