Description

Enter Edward Tripp's bottomless mind as he straddles comedy and spoken-word, like a genre-defying slut. In this show you can expect defrosted wives, visits from Uncle Connor (who isn't in the IRA) and one unforgivable reference to Michaela Strachan. If you've ever felt like an Ireland, or an Island, this is the show for you. If you've always resented poetry, this is the poetry show for you. 'Whenever Edward's on a comedy line-up, I know I'm in for a treat. Seek him out like buried treasure!' (Spencer Jones). 'Absurd and hysterical' (Razz Magazine).

Brilliant show! Hilarious, surprising and witty with every line, I’m very pleased to have convinced my partner and later my parents to come along 5 Stars.

Bring everyone you know so that nobody misses Ed’s last few days at the Fringe!

FIVE STARS *****
Performance poetry and standup at their absolute finest. Sharp, quick, lyrical, hysterically funny; and gloriously heartwarming. Perhaps, like me, you’re no newcomer to performance poetry. If so, you’ll have a deep appreciation for the breathtaking creative force which sparks in this show’s every moment. If you are a newcomer to performance poetry… I envy you. Prepare to be dropped in the deep end of a medium of comedy you never thought possible.
Edward Tripp is a trailblazer. This is poetry as you’ve never seen it before. You will not pass any 10 seconds of these wonderful 45minutes without laughing hysterically.
An easy 5 star show, and the highlight of my fringe. A magical way to start your day.
Take it from me; you cannot afford to miss this show!

What a way to start the day! Saw him at Fast Fringe and so glad we went to see the whole show, because he's bloody hysterical. Mad, surreal, witty... and so very
clever. And did I mention deliciously inappropriate? De-lisssshiously so.
Seriously funny. Go and see him. Deserves a sell out!

Edward Tripp is poetic comedic powerhouse! He is sure to wake you up and make you laugh yourself silly! Brilliant prop work, brilliantly observed poetry and hilariously funny. It's never too early for a laugh the room was rumbling with laughter that is quite a feat at 11.45 am! Go see Edward Tripp you won't regret it!

It’s poetry, it’s comedy, it’s a wild ride! This is an absolutely mad show and you never know what to expect next (in a good way!). Hilarious, brimming with energy, Tripp is an absolutely phenomenal performer, and you should definitely check the show out!

This ain't your high school English teacher's poetry reading. Edward Tripp is A TRIP. He's the cool Irish poet friend I've always wanted. The show is early but it's a party, it woke me up, made me laugh, made me feel excited about art, and then dropped me off on my doorstep with booze on my breath and a new zest for life.

Edward Tripp: No Man is an Ireland SHOULD be the big word-of-mouth hit this Fringe but it’s on at 11.45am so isn’t really getting the recognition it deserves. It’s SO good. A pitch perfect slightly unsettling blend of poetry and comedy. Beautifully written and performed and so, so funny. This show blew me away. An audience of people who had no idea what to expect - and he had them in the palm of his hand from the start.

I randomly walked up to a couple of people with flyers and got given one for this show. I had no idea what to expect, just a venue to head to.

This show is everything I love about the Fringe. Wacky, insanely funny, and wonderfully entertaining. I'm not sure how he pulls that energy out at this time of the morning, but good golly does he. Just do yourself a favour and get along. Put any doubts aside about this being poetry, because I couldn't breathe for laughing. 10/10

We didn’t know what to expect from a poetry event. It was immensely entertaining and one of the best shows we’ve seen.

A perfect show to get you warmed up for your Fringe day. It's funny, it's silly, it's a bit mad. It's got poetry and pandas. Loved it.

I’ve seen Ed a couple of times and it’s always a real treat. He manages to mix verbal dexterity with hilarity and would recommend this show to anyone. 5 stars!

Hands down, the funniest and most creative poet I have ever seen

We saw Edward at a Three Irish Headliners show and felt we needed more of his High Concept Poetry. We were not disappointed and you won’t be too. Very silly and extremely funny stuff from the ex Bard of Exeter and South West Anti-Slam Champion.

A fantastic ***** show, brilliantly delivered original, subversive poetry that is intelligent and laugh out loud funny. Definitely in our Fringe top 3.

If you see one show, just one, make it this one. Alternatively have some Buckfast and join Mr Tripp in Sprit.

A lyrical feat. Equally high brow and low brow, full of surprises. The second best Irish way to start your day.
