Dinner

Having seen ‘Dinner’ performed previously and left unimpressed, I approached Exeter University Theatre Company’s version with caution. However, this production reminded me of my love for theatre. It was a reminder of how new direction can breathe new life into a familiar play. The cast delivered an engaging performance that highlighted the unpredictability of life. It underscored how everyone has something unique to bring to the table of creativity.

Utterly brilliant. Such a talented group of young actors who were all cast perfectly in their roles. Not a weak link among them.
It’s rare to see such a fast-moving tense and funny script delivered with such precision, yet also apparent ease and confidence. Truly astonishing. An unexpected gem and the highlight of my fringe visit.

How can such young performers be so brilliant? All 4 of our party were captivated from start to finish. We'd all like to see this again but we can't as it's sold out, as it should be. This performance belongs in the professional arena and I look forward to seeing it again whenever that may be. Well done to all of the cast.

Dinner is served. What an incredible performance for all the characters to be so unlikeable, yet the show still so engrossing (down to both great writing and brilliant acting). There are plenty of laughs, and yet tension remains so high throughout. If you haven't seen this yet, go while you still can!

The dramatic performance was absolutely incredible, captivating me from the very beginning to the end. I was completely engrossed, unable to look away for even a moment for fear of missing a single detail. It was undoubtedly the standout show of the fringe for me, leaving a lasting impression that I won't soon forget.

This deserves to sell out at every performance.

This was a spur of the moment decision for us and wow, what a winner! Expertly acted and suspense-filled, we loved every minute. Cannot recommend highly enough. If you are undecided, don’t hesitate - you’ll love it!!!

An absolutely gripping show with a powerful script and an even more brilliant cast. The characters were somehow both sympathetic and repulsive — the perfect combination to keep the audience engaged throughout. Well fleshed out and potent. Brava to all involved!

The cast was absolutely phenomenal all around, captivating the audience the entire time. If you want to laugh and have a thrill, this show will absolutely not disappoint!!

I've seen Dinner many times over the years, but this production was exceptional.
Faultless performances with that heavy sense of menace in the background.

The. Setting is glamorous and the acting is excellent.
The Dinner party guests plus hired help makes a cast of 7. All of them help to keep the story moving along at a lively pace.

This is a clever adaptation of a longer play and through the excellent acting I was transported to a dinner party like no other. I felt as though I held my breath from the beginning to the end of the play. This is an amazing production and a real must see.
