Devon is so funny! Her journey trying to be a teen pop star will have you peeing your pants laughing one minute and cringing about the entertainment industry the next. Super engaging and well done. She makes 45 minutes feel like 5, I definitely left wanting more and had all her songs stuck in my head!

Was randomly given a flier for Pop Star while knocking back a few pints with my mates and thought what the heck. Devon had a laughing our arses off the whole show. We had a great time and would recommend all to check it out!

Devon came up and gave us a flyer while we were eating our pizza. She sold the show a little bit low-key, and we kind of dismissed it and went to go see see if we could get into a popular show that we heard might have a few tickets left for those waiting in line. That failed, and we said, "well, I guess we could go see that American girl. At least we'll be able to understand what she's saying as opposed to half these Scottish comics."

So we showed up to the venue, which has to be the most out of the way location in all of Fringe. There's no possibility for foot traffic. And then some other show got out, and as one of the audience members streamed out, she was talking about how the show had her reflecting on her white privilege. At this point, we were really wondering what we'd gotten ourselves into, but we'd already forked over our 13 quid, so we entered the auditorium. And I kid you not there were maybe 8 people there watching, including us. And one of them turned out to be a comedian friend of Devon's.

And then the show started. And it was fantastic. Devon knows how to tell an amazing story, and she uses multimedia brilliantly to augment the show. At not a single point in its almost one hour run time did my attention waver for a second. How often can you say that about a show you see? While it wasn't often gut-bustingly-laugh-out-loud-funny, it was put-a-constant-smile-on-your-face-funny. And the level of energy Devon puts into the performance is absolutely astonishing. She didn't let the small audience size negatively impact her performance, even though I know that must be frustrating for her. Also, this is not an experimental show. It's polished and completely professional.

I have no idea why she hasn't caught on at Fringe. Maybe she's not selling herself hard enough when she's handing out the flyers. But you owe it to yourself to go see this show before Fringe ends. I can't imagine how anybody could not like this.

This show is deranged and I loved it so much. It was a seamless, high energy and multimedia performance that had me locked in from the beginning. To be able to turn a cringey part of your life into a such a self aware gem of a show is real talent. Also some of these songs are genuine bangers!

If the rumors don’t stop I’m gonna pop pop pop!!

Very entertaining and enjoyable. Devon shares her unique life experience with a great sense of humor and a lot of heart. Very polished production. By the end you will be a fan.

We stumbled upon Devon, and she ended up being the funniest act we saw all day. Almost crying with laughter. 10/10, do not miss!

Forget the late time slow, it's fringe dammit! Go see this show. Hillarious, and true. Was honestly in disbelief. Deserves all the raving reviews and compliments.

High-Energy, Hilarious, (Un)forgettable tunes

Pop Star may be one of the most hilarious one-woman self-mockery shows at the Fringe!

Devon’s high-energy performance and hilarious storytelling and characters had me laughing non-stop. Her self-mockery of her pop star dreams is relatable (I mean, who hasn't been promised the stars?) and side-splitting. Someone in my row was snorting with laughter.

A friend invited me last minute. Though it wasn’t originally on my list due to the late 10:45 PM start, it was totally worth the Uber home.

It’s uber-good and an absolute must-see!

A highlight of our Fringe experience this week!
This show is so much fun - Devon is a hugely talented storyteller and performer.
The show is sprinkled with excerpts of her original songs in all their 2010s glory (think Rebecca Black’s “Friday”) and is hilarious and so, so entertaining. We’ve been playing the finale song on repeat since seeing this last night, legitimately such a bop.
Highly recommend!

A hilarious and high energy show about owning your past! Full of mid 2010’s era pop and ridiculous characters. Highly recommend.

Didn’t know what to expect but this show was a highlight of my fringe, did not stop laughing and would 100% recommend giving this a go!!!

A high energy show that does not disappoint. Devon invites you into her failed journey. You might think that failure brings heartbreak but after 10 years of reflection Devon finds stories to tell that have you laughing out loud while wiping your eyes. Bring all your friends for a late night laugh to set the stage on your way to the Fringe nightlife.

I saw Devon perform at her sold out New York City show and it was so amazing!! When I saw that she was bringing Popstar to the Fringe Fest I knew I needed to see it again. The show is so funny and entertaining, the stories Devon tells are unbelievable. Definitely recommend catching her show before she closes!!

So much fun! We traveled from the US to see Devon's show and have zero regrets. Her storytelling is hilarious and the performance is so entertaining from start to finish. I didn't stop laughing for the whole time. So funny and original. Hoping to see this show at least once more while we're at Fringe. Total must-see!!

Loved this show! I laughed the entire time and even though she says she failed as a pop star I think her music is actually really good. Can’t wait to listen to them on Spotify.

I have seen this show in New York City and now in Edinburgh. It is great to see Devon performing here. Is she funny, cute and can actually sing

Super funny from start to finish. Cringe comedy at its finest. Devon’s ability to laugh at herself and weave a tragic tale of failures and follies with gut busting laughter, is truly magical. One of the most honest and entertaining shows you can see at fringe, and currently my favorite.

Popped in last minute with a friend on a whim and so glad we did!! It was the right combo of funny, honest, and had some genuine shock value! If you need a quick show before your night out check it out!!
