Description

Nominated for Best Composer on the Fringe for Sailing to Tomorrow (Musical Theatre Matters, 2007), Peter D Robinson brings a new setting of Kenneth Steven's powerful poem. Three vocalists (soprano, alto, tenor) combine with three musicians (clarsach, flute, violin) to tell the tragic story of Irish lovers Deirdre and Naoise and their short-lived idyllic time in Argyll before the irresistible forces of destiny catch up with them and lead them to a brutal and bloody fate. Knowing how a story ends takes nothing away from the beauty of its telling.
