Description

Prepare for a hilarious hour of (unconvincing) romance, (sloppy) action and (tenuous) espionage! Don't miss the debut whirlwind comedy from The Defectors. Richard P Cooper, an eccentric ex-detective, presents his (heavily embellished) exploits on the stage (with mixed results)! He guides the audience through his journey to the USA, grappling with assassination plots and three-legged dogs, while three hapless drama students embody every other questionable character. This laugh-a-minute romp is sure to elate and baffle in equal measure! 'An utterly endearing romp through the clichés of crime drama... irreverent and irresistible' **** (LostInTheatreland.co.uk).

Such fun antics with memorable characters and continual hilarious jokes. Beautifully crafted and skillfully executed and not a single beat missed by the hugely talented cast. Make sure you're wearing your Tenalady, there won't be a dry one in the house!

A must see at the Fringe,
A well written Comedy with great on stage chemistry of all the actors and top performance

Went along to this show with no idea what it was going to be about, and was very pleasantly surprised to see a brilliant original comedy that had obviously been given lots of love and attention from everyone involved, it's not uncommon when watching shows at the fringe for them to be a little rough around the edges but this show felt like a polished piece that I would expect to see in theatre's.

Spoke briefly to the cast after the show and they were all just lovey, definitely need to go back and see part 2

Definitely some of the worst jokes I've ever seen. I laughed like a drain.

I attended the opening night of Defective Inspector: An American Odyssey. Before the performance began, the stage technician informed us that due to illness, one of the cast was unavailable, so a long-standing friend of the production would stand-in.

With that disclaimer, the play began. And it was brilliant. The jokes landed often and landed well. The props, including a certain sewing aid were hilarious! I can safely say I had a smile on my face throughout. I enjoyed them so much I went back the next night to see their opposing show Defective Inspector: A Stitch in Time.

It is a testament to the four performers' skill and memory to learn two separate pieces and perform them on alternating nights. Kudos as well to the stand-in, who did a fantastic job under the circumstances.

I absolutely would reccomend that you take time to see them!

This show was great fun. A well written romp, with plenty of laugh out loud moments. On my visit an understudy was a last minute replacement, reading from script which only added to the charm. Highly recommend a visit!
