After now seeing each one of David Alnwick’s three shows at this year’s fringe, I can confidently say that his style, voice, heart, and unique aesthetic shine through in everything that he does. His innovative blend of gripping storytelling and awe inspiring magic tricks keep even the most skeptic audience member glued and at attention. Although Mystery of Dracula was my personal favorite (I’ve got a thing for rituals, vampires, and slowly mounting dread), I have left all three feeling energized, engaged, and completely dumbfounded. My friends and I have continued to discuss these shows, from their individual tricks to their overall plots for days afterward. As I’ve been telling everyone I encounter, from close personal friends to those strangers I happen to encounter in queues: if you have an opportunity to see one of these truly magical performances, don’t let it slip you by. I promise you won’t regret it.

I was completely transfixed by this fantastic showman and storyteller. “In and of itself” meets Dracula lore and the passion of a man fixated on a very really mystery surrounding the occult and it’s history throughout the world

This was my favourite show of the year. I'm actually tempted to go back and see it again before the fringe is over! Listen, I have ADHD and this was the only time in my LIFE I've ever paid attention to someone talking for an hour. David was engaging, exciting, and had me on the edge of my seat. He was also polite, funny, and had great delivery. I'd recommend to anyone. An excellent hour. He should do university lectures. I might have got a better grade.

Fantastic concept for a show, part magic, part geeky storytelling/lecture, and it nails each aspect. David Alnwick is an engaging host that we loved listening to him talk about his interests, and the illusions were excellent both in the showmanship and part of the narrative. Highly recommend this.

A fabulous vampire-hunting story that pulls the audience into a dark Victorian world, told by a passionate and knowledgeable storyteller. The show becomes increasingly creepy and does not leave wanting, a great experience for anyone fascinated by the occult and mythical.

I've seen Dave Alnwick at the Fringe before and his shows have been consistently entertaining, well produced and utterly baffling. His Dracula show is just as good. Dave is entertaining as well as being a superb magician and illusionist. I'd recommend him to anyone of any age.

I attended this show after being recommended by a friend, thought I was not really going to like it but how wrong could I be.
What a story teller Alnwick is and the show has you hooked from the second you walk in.
Not a lot of magic takes place however the show itself is magical to watch
Highly recommended,if you think you won't like it give it a go.

Saw this last year and specifically made a point of coming back to see it again this year. This is a brilliant show you need to see from an engaging performer. Beyond an engrossing storytelling throughline, there's performance of magic, a deep dive into occult history and more.

A wonderful hour listening to a horror geek tell a story full of twists and turns about how Dracula came to be. David Alnwick is a master storyteller, with an amazing voice, and he's a brilliant magician (so the couple of tricks he throws into this show are great). I've seen this show twice and loved it both times.

Came in not knowing what to expect. It was very fascinating. It felt like a theatrical, magical documentary. Must see, especially if you're in to vampires *****
