Description

A history of dance floors and joyful regret. How a repressed Christian youth minister swapped out Jesus for disco and found a new religion on the dance floor. Jonny Hawkins was once on the straight-and-narrow, but now they're on the queer and wide. In their early 20s Jonny helped start a church, went to Bible College and was preaching the Gospel in front of thousands of people, but since has become one of Australia's most loved DJs, dance floor icon, queer party promoter and a disciple of joy. The only show with a built-in afterparty.

THIS SHOW IS INCREDIBLE. The audience absolutely loved it and came together at the end in a really beautiful way. This is an utterly genuine show and left me feeling more myself. I was shocked to see a negative review. GO SEE IT

Unfortunately very under written and rehearsed

So disappointed. After a long day I was looking forward to something special. For me this was a self indulgent mess - it was even confirmed that that was no script. I’m sure others loved it but it wasn’t for me.

Full of good music, kind strangers and wonderful stories, Jonny gave me much more than a built-in afterparty. They gave me a piece of themselves, while revealing a piece of myself in return, and I will hold them gently in my memory forever.
