I’ve been going up to the Fringe for many years and this is without doubt the best original musical I’ve seen in Edinburgh. Come Dine With Me: The Musical was an hour of wit, wordplay and songs so catchy I’m still singing them a week after seeing it!

As a fan of the TV show, I was keen to see it brought to life on the stage and this production did not disappoint - so much so that I actually went back to see it again! The subtle references to long-standing CDWM jokes (whisk, anyone?) gave existing fans something to dig their teeth into, whilst the fresh storyline and neat exposition meant that even those who’d never seen the show could get stuck in.

A laugh-a-minute, absolute belter of a show - a must-see for anyone in Edinburgh, and I will definitely be taking local friends and family to the London run in September.

Enjoyed it. Great vocals. Worth seeing.

Massive fan of CDWM- get tickets if you can! 48 days ago

Funny, slick and beautifully written and performed musical with a sideways take on the favorite CDWM TV show. The 4 contestants here are each worthy of their own musical but here we see the show from the production team’s perspective . Witty and feel good- and you come out uplifted. A lot of budding stars here so expect to see this on the
london stage!

A starter of set up, a main of magical musical moments and a dessert of dancing and dinner party drama. This musical captures the magic on the TV show, with its mix of larger-than-life and relatable characters, behind the scenes tensions and a heart-warming message, this truly deserves a 10 from everyone and should definitely go away a winner at the end!

This show is a must-see! It brilliantly revives the chaotic charm of a classic Tv program with infectious energy and top-notch execution. The writing is razor-sharp and witty, while the performers burst with vibrancy, breathing life into a cast of entertaining, lovable characters. You’ll find yourself clapping, dancing and eagerly trying to crack the mystery. This show has been the absolute highlight of my Fringe experience. I’ve already rallied the gals to grab tickets, and I’ll be making the trip to London to see it again (and again)! If you only see one show at the Fringe, you’re doing it wrong - see this one twice! And then see it London for good measure.

COME DINE WITH ME: THE MUSICAL was the best show we saw up at the Fringe (bar nothing) - an hour of pure joy from start to finish, we roared with laughter all the way through. A glorious feast of witty rhymes and earworm tunes with a generous dollop of camp and a side of self-deprecating charm. This loving celebration of the warts-and-all of the iconic British TV show is a must-see for even the most casual fan - I’ll be running for seconds (and thirds, guilt-free…) at its September stint in London and will be dragging along all my family and friends. I can’t wait to see where the show goes next - with such a stellar creative team and cast, I have no doubt its future is piping hot.

Came out of the theatre humming and two of these songs are still stuck in my head! The writers and cast have put together some West End worthy tunes, and I wouldn't be surprised if this show goes on tour around the UK soon. Can't say enough good things about Come Dine With Me The Musical!

This is a fantastic musical with catchy music, witty lyrics, and a stellar cast! I'm not too familiar with the TV show, but I adored this big-hearted, toe-tapping musical. The sabotage plotline was full of twists and turns and the cast absolutely knocked their roles out of the park. Highly, highly recommend for fans of the TV show, musical theatre lovers, or anyone who loves a good whodunnit (or a good love story).

Intriguing concept, but left feeling a youth company could have made more out of it. The story falls flat, I have no reason to care about the characters, the songs feel out of place.
If I hadn't paid £17 per person I might feel more generous, but as is I'm just deeply disappointed. I've seen much better shows this fringe for less than half of that.

I’m not a big fan of modern musicals and was not expecting something that was an imitation of a west end show on a microbudget so I was not the target audience for this, although the cast were very talented. It felt like there was a lot of lost potential in terms of CDWM-themed jokes and it felt a bit like the dialogue was written by AI at times, though some of the songs were quite fun.

Had a wonderful time at this show. Very funny, light-hearted, positive, silly and sweet. I'm glad I got to see this.

What a great show! Can’t think of anything to criticise. We had a fabulous time.

Some musicals are meh, some are good and some are just rubbish. This one doesn’t belong to any of those categories. It transcended them all and is in a category of its own, a hellscape of suburban mediocrity.

A fantastic show with excellent songs and some knockout singers. It doesn’t really matter if you are familiar with the TV programme or not, as this is a real treat for fans of musical theatre. What a delight to have a real band and such high production values. Highly recommended.

This is almost Broadway quality! Great music, funny lyrics, fantastic voices! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I never expected this to be such a heartwarming experience on top of brilliant comedy, music and acting. I would recommend this show to anyone liking musicals, even if you've never watched Come Dine With Me before (I haven't!). Absolutely brilliant!

A brand new take on the murder mystery genre but if it was all about food and wasn’t about murder at all but about sabotage?… with a little bit of love? Sounds like the most exciting game of Cluedo ever and well the same goes for this production of ‘come dine with me’. You are instantly brought into the world and immersed in the plot when we are greeted by the ‘production team’ behind the episode before the show starts, setting up the crowd for the show with funny remarks and playful humour that also gives us the first insight into the characters backgrounds and characteristics. We were met with some of the most fun and cheerful numbers that held such a grand stage presence and filled the audience with laughter and cheer as we watched on to what should’ve been a standard episode of come dine with me giving all we should expect but it’s not just any show… it’s the 1000th so of course things have to be special? Let’s just say it would be an honour to be able to spend a dinner getting to know these characters and all their weird quirks and stories that make them all special in their own way, even with all the ups and downs that generate from a bunch of strangers getting together it allows us all to join together and really discover what it means to be human, just misunderstood until we take the time to understand; and this show does this in such a beautiful and fun way. Stand out performances from ‘Teddy’ played by Harry Chandler, ‘Janey’ played by Sophie Hutchinson & ‘Mary’ played by Danielle Coombe and honestly just the whole cast, huge shoutout to Tom Bowen, Paul Hazel, Kim Ismay and Leo Udvarlaky please check them all out, outside of this production and cheer them all on.

One of us was keen to see this show, and it made the “why the heck not list”….so glad it did. From the start, which was as the audience made their way to their seats, to the end of the show the cast impressed with their voices and the laughs kept coming too. Yes it’s a silly concept, and a cheesy story, but you will enjoy it.
If you can get a ticket, go see this.

What a buzz. One of my favourite TV shows combined with my favourite genre - musical theatre - told in an hour. Great music, great cast. Don't miss it

Sell out show yesterday and rightly so.
Well executed. Acting and singing was superb.
Overall an excellent show. If in doubt just book it was fab!

We loved this show. Great cast and just brilliant concept. Theatre was so hot though and seats rubbish if you are very tall and end up squished in middle row. Very limited leg room.

My favourite show of the fringe so far

Such a strong cast; very funny. Much better than I was expecting

Especially liked the female director and the singing voice of the recording guy

Delicious live theatre that will have you licking the whisk with glee. Does what it says on the tin with a musical that have you humming when you leave.

Jack 63 days ago

Fun musical theatre comfort food. Exactly what you imagine it would be in the best way, and a great palette cleanser between any heavier shows you might have planned for the festival.
