Chris Kent tries to give up the internet and navigate life without asking his phone what he should eat or how to get home, stuff he should probably be able to work out himself. He longs for a simpler time of Snake and constructing emojis himself. Join him on a journey that will make or break him. 'He really makes me laugh, he would be one of the best comics that I have seen (Tommy Tiernan). 'Chris is effortlessly hilarious, an incredible storyteller and one of my favourite comedians working anywhere today' (James Acaster).

Another year, another trip to see Chris Kent, our one and only festival show this year which should tell you something.
It can't be easy being a comedian at the festival, there's thousands of other comics in hundreds of venues, some try to stand out by having a gimmick, some by having a snappy title, some court controversy, some are deliberately "challenging".

Chris takes the increasingly rare approach of just being funny and making people laugh. The long, silly stories, the callbacks to earlier parts of the show, the self deprecating jokes were all present and correct, he's a consummate story teller with a genuine warmth and love for what he does.

Despite being billed as a work in progress the show flowed seamlessly from start to finish, no awkward pauses, no jokes that failed to land, just 55 minutes of laughs.

Chris seems to understand that sometimes people just want to laugh and leave a show happier than when they went in, something he achieves with deceptive ease.

He even claimed to remember my wife and I from last year, but I reckon he was just being nice.

Go and see him, it's the last week, it's part of the Free Fringe, you've nothing to lose and everything to gain.
