Description

George Mitchell is at crisis point. The second album is due and they have nothing. Lacking inspiration and drive, George is struggling... until an unlikely fan drops by, Death themself. But what happens to us when Death pops by for a chat? Will this prove to be an unlikely source of inspiration? Only time will tell. Checking In is the story of George and Death as they work together to create a seminal second album. Featuring live music throughout, Checking In looks at our mortality and the pressures we put on ourselves in a quest for perfection.

Absolutely incredible! The cast are phenomenal, and both parallel and compliment each other beautifully. Simply Surreal is always one of our favourite companies at the Fringe, pushing boundaries, lovely humans, and always put on a good show. Make this ojne of your must-see shows before it's too late!

Thoroughly enjoyed the show. Excellent performances and found George’s comedic delivery particularly engaging and Death’s ‘innocence’ a novel take. Thought provoking, well written, professionally delivered and original music too - definitely worth seeing.

This show gave me a lot to think about. The chemistry between the two actors was amazing and I felt the space was used very well. Lovely song. Great performance overall.

One of the most outstanding performances I've ever witnessed at the Fringe. This incredibly thought-provoking story is packed with emotional highs and lows, making you reflect on the fragility of life and death. It will leave you feeling both melancholic and in stitches with laughter.

An intimate production featuring two talented and captivating actors, set in a superb venue with a convenient central location. The acting is exceptional, complemented by live music throughout.

Simply Surreal, I eagerly anticipate your shows every year, and once again, you did not disappoint. Fabulous work and well worth seeing! A truly engaging show that makes for an hour well spent!
