Description
Family workshop suitable for children aged 3-7 with parents or carers, but all welcome to participate in whatever way they feel capable. We involve everyone: skip, clap and march together to traditional Scottish music. Enjoy simple (often simplified) dances that you might find at a ceilidh or Scottish country dance. Hugely popular with local families, now it's your turn. Bring Mum or Dad along to partner you under the chandeliers! Children should be accompanied by an adult who is willing to join in; one adult can dance with two children. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. We really enjoyed going to CeilidhKids at the Fringe. The dances were suitably simplified for young children (and inexperienced adults!) while still being great fun. The organiser, Caroline, gave everyone very clear instructions before and during the dances, so everyone knew what to do. Great fun for all the family, young and old! Would definitely recommend.

Our family had an absolutely wonderful time at the kids' ceilidh! It was such a fun and lively experience that everyone enjoyed, especially my sister and nieces visiting from Chelmsford. The music was fantastic, and the dances were easy to pick up from the instructions. The organiser did a great job of keeping the kids engaged and involved throughout the event. It was a delightful way to spend time together as a family. A must do whether you’re from Edinburgh or not.
