Description
Join Cal Halbert (Britain’s Got Talent, The Gadget Show) in a hilarious and emotional stand-up comedy showcase that humorously and honestly explores his darkest moments and path to sobriety. This show is 'beatifically composed' (Scotsman), and Cal fearlessly navigates his battle with alcohol and road to recovery. Calcoholic is a celebration of resilience and the cathartic power of humour and personal reflection. It is not just a show; it’s a laughter-fuelled journey through the highs, lows and hilarities of life in recovery. Plus, I'll tell you how I was a mess on the drink. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Still taking (and laughing )about this show now and we saw it 2 days ago! We loved the audience interaction at the beginning. There was the usual brilliant impersonations (no one does The Donald better!) The story of his journey to become free of the grip alcohol had on his life was fabulous. Get. A. Ticket!!

Great show, Cal is clearly naturally funny, as this is a tough subject. I’ve seen him do impressions shows and was surprised how easily he can move to storytelling. Highly recommend seeing this - True Fringe style show.

This clever, witty and heart rending show does not disappoint. Cal shares a difficult time in his life with his audience, taking us through his sobriety journey in a way that will make you laugh and cry (and will make you think twice about throwing anything away in a self addressed envelope). Definitely one not to miss.

Cal Halbert is an all rounder in terms of comedy. He's hilariously funny telling jokes & making observations, & his imitations & voices are superb, but with this show he adds something much more: Cal talks about a very difficult time in his life with real pathos, as well as humour. Alcoholism is a terrible disease & Cal tells some awful tales about his time as an alcoholic, but he manages to make it extremely funny without belittling the whole thing. He really opens himself wide open & pours his heart & soul out for the audience & you can't do anything but love him for it. Cal is now talking about being over 1,000 days sober, which is fantastic, but every day is a challenge & a victory.
This is a must see show. You'll find your emotions given a good workout, but it's hugely enjoyable at the same time.

I thoroughly enjoyed this show. Very much a fringe comedy show with a strong message but very funny and worth a visit. Well done on your 1009 days!
