Description

Developed by and featuring UCLA and Loyola Marymount University students, this offbeat feminist comedy playfully examines the unspoken nuances of female relationships in the context of the male-dominated professional art world. Trapped in a museum while waiting to interview for an Associate Curator position, five young women must select a tribute to fight a terrifying c-word monster. Through thunderstorms and disappearing paintings, these women begin to question the antiquated boxes in which they are placed, and how they have come to evaluate one another.

This show is a riot! And it made me a little uncomfortable — but good theater should do that. I think in many ways it really forces the audience to examine their own preconceived notions about women and how they fit into the world. I left with a lot of thoughts, and I enjoyed myself as an audience member.

Prepare to be on a creative journey about what it means to be a young woman today in the USA. This play is all about the fantasy and hope that someday strong women will work together to support strong women. Magical and relevant, relatable in both sad and funny ways.

Wickedly good satire about the obstacles that young people, especially young women face in a world (such as theatre) that is dominated by men. Enjoyed the whimsical use of the supernatural as well as the searing honesty about relationships in the personal and professional world. Is great fun! 4 Stars!

Would not recommend. 0/5 stars. Bad actors and bad writing. Was very confused throughout all of it, didn’t know what was going on. Felt like it was a load of girls whining for an hour, mocking womanhood. Wish I could get my money back.

Tremendous passion and energy! Creative original play and thoroughly entertaining. Each actress and actor in this talented ensemble totally nailed it--powerful performances from the heroines, and the "Historical" was marvelous! Oh, and the "C Word" isn't what you think--but you'll have to watch it to find out, no spoilers. :) 5 stars!

What a moving piece of theatre about the experiences women face in the world. It is definitely a must see.
