Description

A hootenanny is Highland Scots for a party or get-together – a Scottish folk music party with poetry, music and song. Tonight, acclaimed storyteller and novelist Alastair Sim recites the poetry of Scotland's greatest bard Robert Burns as award-winning pianist Matthew Shiel performs Scottish folk music and other musical masterpieces inspired by the beauty of Scotland – by candlelight. Featuring a special musical performance of his iconic Tam O'Shanter and a sing-along performance of his world-famous Auld Lang Syne. 'Matthew Shiel shone' (ThisWeekCulture.com). 'A wonderful new Scottish crime fiction voice' (Laura Marney).
