Description

Two of Scotland’s foremost jazz musicians, pianist Brian Kellock and trumpeter Colin Steele follow on from their phenomenally successful sell-out Fringe shows over the last few years (Mary Poppins, My Fair Lady, Glen Miller, Duke Ellington and Louis Armstrong), and the intrepid duo now turn their attention to the classic Lionel Bart musical Oliver. Food Glorious Food, I'd do Anything and Where is Love; cracking tunes joyfully re-imagined, faithful to the originals but played with imagination, creativity, freshness and flair. Top class swinging jazz musicians at the top of their game, truly magical!

Two utterly talented musicians..as with all excellent Jazz it looks like they are 'jamming' on the spot, because the music is so complex.
But clearly they are not.
The audience loved it and the tunes, of course, are timeless.
Recommended.

OMG, this show was so much fun! Usually if you combine musicals and jazz, the musicals are Porgy and Bess or Anything Goes, which are no real feat because they're close to jazz anyway.

Doing Oliver ... that takes guts! Brian and Colin meet the challenge, and pull the audience along with them. Willingly, I might add. At times funny, touching, and rousing, they are fantastic improvisers, and grabbed my attention the whole way.
