If this is the best of the fest then there’s trouble brewing. Susie McCabe compèred and was the best comedian of the night, not that she had much competition. Two Hearts, the last act, lost the audience in the first couple of minutes, just embarrassing. The best that the fringe has to offer? Or a filler act?

I got Kiri, same night as Nabil. Great selection, I laughed very hard at seeing Jonny Pelham be frank about forgetting about the gig and wanting to have MDMA afterwards.

I appreciate comedy comes down to personal taste but on the night I went 3 of the 5 performers were dire, and 1 was okayish (but allegedly drunk). Thankfully Nabil Abdulrashid was brilliant.

Jo jo Sutherland compèring the night we went. Fantastic as ever. Overall a bit of a mixed bag but good fun late night comedy. 3***

If you’re short on time and want to get a taster of as many acts at the Fringe as possible, this is your best bet.
