Description

What goes on behind the theatre curtain? Who’s that scampering about backstage? And why have they added Febreze to the dry-ice machine? When Lily bottles her acting audition for the school musical, she reluctantly finds herself backstage, working with an eccentric group of characters who have made the world behind the curtain their home. Can she find her place, prove her worth and discover her voice? All the while avoiding the wrath of the show’s leading lady and the pointy edges of the backstage furniture. A new musical comedy that celebrates tales of teamwork, friendship and courage.

A whizz banger of a production. We felt part of the action in this intimate venue that conjures up the pace and emotion of back stage. The script is clever, funny and zips along with some cracking one liners. The musical numbers are uplifting and sent a tingle down the spine as these talented performers sang their hearts out and owned each number. It is hard to believe that these performers are just 12 and 13 years old - watch this space to see if any of them follow the alumni of their school - Jack Whitehall.. Emma Watson … Tom Hiddleston ! Bravo

5 star. Wow wow wow! I have seen many youth performances over the years but this was the best and they are only 12 and 13… incredible. Funny entertaining committed and uniformly great quality this musical comedy was really entertaining. In difficult uk times this was a tonic of optimism in our young people. Cast enjoy every moment it will bond you forever and this experience will positively affect your confidence for the rest of your lives. Really well done!

Slick, funny, clever and hugely engaging. The team at the Dragon has created something really entertaining and the young cast deliver with finesse. The characters are beautifully observed and the whole cast shine. In a tiny venue that seems to suit the behind stage setting, this is one of the highlights of youth theatre at the Fringe. Bag a ticket if you can!
