Description
Title: Battlefield Butterflies. Genre: Science Fiction, Social Justice. Presented By: Afghan students from Virtual School Australia. Description: Battlefield Butterflies is a captivating digital play that follows Afghan students' perilous journey from Kandahar to Spinboldak. Set in a war zone, the story depicts how butterfly drones rescue a young passenger named Parveen. Through powerful sketches, music and voiceovers, this narrative sheds light on the struggles of Afghan girls and women deprived of education and the right to work. When Parveen is injured, the Butterfly Brigade save her using their capillary blood transfusion, weaving a tale of friendship and survival. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Exactly what the Fringe should be!
Unexpected stories from unique voices told in a different way, not just someone funny you've seen on the telly.
This is an audio play with supporting graphic illustrations, that would work as a theatre piece but is performed this way for logistical (Afghan students in Australia) and other reasons (as the performers explain during the introduction).
