Asli Akbay: Tomboy

Comedy (stand-up, solo show)

  • Babes in arms policy: Babies do not require a ticket
  • Policy applies to: Children under 18 months

Description

Asli Akbay is and always has been a Tomboy. Born in the 1980s, back when no one even knew they had pronouns to defend, Asli was already on her own gender-fluid journey, climbing trees and shunning skirts. But as a teenager, things got complicated. Convinced she had to look 'girly' to attract boys, Asli grew her hair and accepted life in a female body. As a TomAdult she now thinks she knows better than to kowtow to Instagram grooming levels. But does it have to be so... ahem... binary? Join her on this comedic coming-of-age gender journey.

I enjoyed Asli's show and life story. She was frank about herself (a bit too frank time to time) and be at peace with herself. Her jokes were funny and enjoyable. I'm looking forward to her next show!
