Description
Sophocles' tale of youthful defiance and aged intransigence is reworked by a young cast. Antigone is a story of an individual, a family and a state turned in on themselves and driven to destruction – and of young people burdened with the cares of the ages. Antigone must choose between loyalty and obedience – and her choice will determine the fate of all those around her. This company has performed to acclaim in Edinburgh before, and returns now with their fresh and fierce new take on Sophocles' timeless tale: a version that speaks to purists and iconoclasts alike. Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Go see this! My first Greek tragedy - wasn’t sure what to expect tbh but the modern telling of this tale feels relevant and powerful today. Young extremely talented cast, great direction , powerfully simple, tight production. One of the best things I’ve seen this week - this cast has great promise. Very moving

A young genderblind cast does an excellent job with this tragedy, conveying the frustration and misery that comes about from abuse of power very well. Antigone and Creon's performances are an absolute delight to watch. 4/5 stars.

An earnest and beautifully spoken piece, anchored by strong central performances from Creon and Antigone.
