Description

Ancient coins are rare, historical, often beautiful and sometimes funny. This is a family-friendly show ā€“ silly humour, hands-on coin-making, amazing pictures ā€“ but not just for kids. Hold real coins, ancient proto-money and pirate treasure! Learn about Axum (the first Christian kingdom, in Africa), beautiful abstract Celtic coins and their love of horses, Baktria (Alexander the Great's wealthy, orphaned Central Asian kingdom, which spread Buddhism to China), Sogdiana and Khwarezmia. Gold coins, forgeries, treasure hoards and piracy. 'A masterclass in infotainment... passion as performance art.' (GetYourBootsOn).
