Description

Flippant and fabulous. Wicked sharp and delightfully silly. Gender non-conforming and genre non-conforming. Internationally acclaimed comedian ALOK makes a triumphant return to the Fringe with their new stand-up show after a sold-out run at the Traverse Theater in 2022 which was described as 'provocative and powerful' (Chortle.co.uk) and a 'jaw-dropping celestial event' (ToDoList.org.uk). Fresh from their appearance on Hannah Gadsby’s Gender Agenda comedy special on Netflix and headlining the Netflix is a Joke Festival, ALOK delivers a crash course on love, gender, and the awkward choreography of being human.

General venue access

  • Accessible entry: There is ramp access to the front door. Then level access to front row seats. There are 14 steps if not taking the accessible entrance.

    • Wheelchair access type: Permanent Ramp, Level Access

  • Stairs: 11- 20
    Number of stairs is provided as guidance and is not in addition to any wheelchair access type (lift/ramp etc) stated above.

How and when to make an access booking

Our access tickets service is available to anyone who:

  • Would like to book specific accessibility services, e.g. a hearing loop, audio description headsets, captioning units, seating in relation to the location of the BSL interpreter
  • Requires extra assistance when at a venue
  • Has specific seating requirements
  • Is a wheelchair user
  • Requires a complimentary personal assistant ticket to attend a performance

As this show once more proves, ALOK is not only a stand-up comedian, but a prophetess of hope for the trans and queer community, as well as for BIPOC communities and people who suffer from mental health problems. When the show was over, I found myself wishing to keep hearing their voice.

A show true to the artist; transcendent ... This thought provoking and provocative set is easily the most informative, comedic perspective on the trans, POC experience gracing the stage currently.
