Description

A love letter to the divas and the gays who stan them! Welcome to an original queer comedy musical about Alexis's childhood as a stan. After moving to rural Germany from New York City at age 8, discovering pop divas online was his only salvation... Now he's ready to sing about it! Join Alexis for his first solo show as he attempts to get his PhDiva in Stanology, with a concentration in Motherological Studies and a minor in Slayviation. Does this queer Bo Burnham have what it takes to be... a lil gay diva?!

Alexis' voice was super good. And how he did the storytelling with charisma and energy made the audience hypnotized (at least I did). The message he delivered about stanning a diva inside ourselves, is truly what we need in this world.

A really fun show, with a mix of great songs (sung with a great voice) and storytelling, with a story that will resonate with many queer people.
We stan!

Pure, unbridled, unapologetic queer joy. The vocals alone are worth the cost of admission, but this show, which takes us on a brilliant journey through the etymology of standom, shines so bright from Alexis absolutely beaming. This show made me so happy.

Waiting for the West End version.

Like, hello? How is this bomb of talent in a small venue not flying off to Hollywood already? Aaaaah the magic of Fringe. In a small improvised theatre, hidden in a university classroom, you witness raw talent flourish. And don't get me started on the music ( stuck in my head since). The songs are ace, I need more of it. I NEED MORE of it all. Alexis promised an hour of joyful, intelligent, profound theatre that will leave you moved and empowered. Don't miss out!

.....lalalalallaaaaaaaa I'm a Staaaaan....

I can stop singing I’m a diva! This is such a clever, original and gorgeous show - it feels like you’re on a facetime with your favourite friend who also has perfect pitch and the hair of a God. So pleased I went to see it! This is a fun, queer Fringe must!!!

RELATABLE CONTENT ALERT, QUEERS AND ALLIES!!! It's a gift to revel in a creative's love for their craft, their identities, and their inspirations. I was so grateful to be invited into Alexis' world for an hour that surveys one of life's greatest pleasures: stanning an incredibly talented woman (or man... I guess). A STAN IS BORN is a refreshing and inspiring take on diva worship that pulls off a real trick at its big, beating heart. Alexis inspires us to look at the Celines, the Britneys, and the Arethas of our own lives and celebrate every diva that gets us through life and all its challenges—even the diva within.

omg. This show is INCREDIBLE. Alexis has the voice of an ANGEl. It's beautiful and clever and makes you feel. And the songs are just so lovely and well crafted.

What an absolute gem of a show! Hilarious, heartwarming, and exactly the right amount over the top, I had a blast the whole way through. Alexis is so obviously meant to be doing what they're doing, and I can't wait to see what comes next. And yes, I will be singing "little gay diva" to myself for quite a while...
