Description

From its earliest known existence pre-1700s through to the golden age of 18th-century masters Niel Gow and William Marshall, onto the 19th century and beyond, the fiddle in Scotland continues to hold a special place in the hearts of music lovers. Gaelic language, piping and stylistic contrasts of the varying geographical landscapes create a diverse historical picture. One of Scotland's leading fiddle exponents performs melodies alongside Gregor Blamey on piano/accordion, with a specially written script read by legendary actor John Shedden. 'A must for aficionados' (Herald). 'Master of the instrument' (ThreeWeeks).

We saw Alastair Savage the last time we attended the Fringe, back in 2019, and made attending his show this year a top priority. What a terrific performance! We loved every minute, bought some more CDs and hope he’s here the next time we return. Very highly recommended!
