Comedy (stand-up)

  • Babes in arms policy: Babies do not require a ticket
  • Policy applies to: Children under 1 year

Description

Last year Adam Bloom wrote a groundbreaking, best-selling book: Finding Your Comic Genius. It's possibly the most advanced book ever written about stand-up and resulted in him holding masterclasses all over the world. This masterclass is an intense and in-depth study of Adam's book in the form of an intimate Q&A, where everyone present will walk away with a much deeper understanding of his methods and theories on comedy. Attendees who have already read the book will benefit most from the class. However, anyone who hasn't read the book will still learn a huge amount.

I read Adam's book earlier this year. This workshop was a fantastic opportunity to hear Adam speak about the book and get his thoughts on performing and writing comedy. He was generous with his time, giving equal attention to the comedians in the room. As importantly, it was a fun day and laughs were had. I can't recommend this Masterclass enough. I got a lot out of it.

I started reading Adam's book recently so, when I saw the chance to spend a day in his company to pick his brain, I didn't hesitate to book a ticket. I've been doing comedy for 5 years now, and the beauty of Adam's book is that he has this incredible way of putting concepts from writing and performance, that you're probably already aware of as a performer, into really simple terms. I lost count of the number of 'ah-ha' moments I had while reading it.
As for the session itself, it was a privilege to get deeper into Adam's mind and to be able to throw out examples from my own set to see how his learnings would apply. (And also to have the other comics in the room give their opinions.) I absolutely loved it, great value for money, and this session has practically made the whole trip to Edinburgh worthwhile for me.

I read Adam’s book and was very impressed by the level of detail he goes into breaking down jokes and comedy itself.
I did the master class with Adam and he is the most passionate comedian I’ve ever spoken to he lives and breathes comedy and I guarantee he will raise you by a number of levels.
I may sign up for another course because the sheer level of knowledge this man has is unbelievable.
5 stars if you are a comic you should definitely do this course!

I've read Adam's book and it's so brilliantly insightful about comedy. The chance to be in his brain and ask him a whole pile of questions about stand up felt like a brilliant opportunity and the day was great. He's so good at this and I really enjoyed it. Even if you're on fringetime it's definitely worth getting up for (grab a coffee first though). I'd recommend it!
