Description
A poetic anthology. Rites of passage and coming of age memoir lead seamlessly into adult reflections on life and loss. Funny, sad and tender. A good-humoured reflection of the magic of everyday experience. And a broken hearted triumph of love over grief. Humane, warm and witty. A balm for the soul. A debut collection of fresh lyric poetry from 'A writer we can cherish' (Spectator). 'His writing has a clear, contemporary pulse of its own' (Telegraph). 'There is no mistaking the signature of writer Paul Sellar' (Stage). Please note that while all media gallery content is provided by verified members of the event, the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society does not review or approve this content before it is posted. Paul Sellars poetry show is a beautiful account of his life in stages. He captured events and luminous moments of insight into common and pivotal experiences that poignantly resonated with the me and the whole audience. It can be difficult to listen to a poet for an hour but Mr. Sellars left us eager to hear every word.

Gentle and reflective, relaxed poetry reading
Nicely written and lovely through lines

I went to this show without any preconceived expectations. It consisted of a series of poems that gently unfolded using beautifully constructed descriptive language that grew into a strongly emotional story that completely consumed and enthralled me, leaving me silently weeping by the end.
I was deeply moved and only realised when it ended that all of the audience had also been profoundly moved.
I thoroughly recommend everyone to go to experience this show.
It has spawned a new interest in both the author and poetry that I didn't have before!

Across a Love Locked Bridge (****)
The playwright reads his beautiful, evocative poems from four phases of his life. His introduction to each phase provided the background that made some of the poems even more wonderful. Since he doesn’t have a book of the poems available, I cannot cite lines for examples.
This is 14th most enjoyable show of the 156 shows I have seen so far at the Fringe this year. You may see my other three-sentence reviews, in order from most enjoyable to worst, at my non-commercial website: https://fringefan.com/

Beautiful, sensitive and thoughtful moments from the life of the author, told in lyrical poetic display. Very moving and honest. I loved it and it is highly recommended.

I liked this show very much, I liked the pace of it, the way it is built to move from childhood to adult loss and grief. Very moving and extremely well delivered

My first 5* show of the Fringe. A lyrical, poignant collection of poems taking us from the hope and zeal of youth through to the acceptance of memory amidst grief. Mesmerising.

An understated but lyrical show, a story told through poetry. I have thought about the poem 'Petersfield' a lot since hearing it.
The perfect start to a day at the Fringe,
