Description

District 12, Katniss Everdeen, Ryanair. Worlds collide in this daring crossover. Music, so often a beacon of revolutionary expression, brings the popular Hunger Games universe to life as over 25 performers take to the stage in an all-singing, all-dancing a cappella adventure through the dangerous Capitol of Panem. What twist and turns lay waiting for our humble British tourists? Come and find out... and may the odds be ever in your flavour. That's the slogan right? Right.

This is one of the strangest things that I have seen at this year’s Fringe – and I watched a man, in a kilt, stand on a ladder in the pouring rain right in the middle of the Royal Mile – but it is definitely one that is worth seeing.

Essentially ‘…Sunger Games’ is an acapella jukebox musical. Like all such musicals, the storyline is really just a vehicle to tie the songs together. This is fortunate, though, as in this case the story doesn’t make a lot of sense, but the singing and tight choreography more than make up for it. A range of new songs are covered, along with old standards such as Spandau Ballet’s ‘Gold’ and Foreigner’s ‘Cold as Ice’, and the soloists are fantastic. You will be utterly bemused at times, you will roar with laughter at times, and you will definitely have fun.

Amazing show. Highly entertaining and seriously funny. An absolutely talented troupe. Would highly recommend this show whether you are a fan of the hunger games books/ movies or never heard of it, this show is worth seeing.

This show is everything fringe should be: completely random, hilarious, oddly moving, and bursting with incredible talent. These students are not only fantastic singers and actors, but are also clearly having the time of their lives. The actors playing President Ice and Seneca particularly stood out.
