Was at Nick Harper's last night in The Jazz Bar (Sunday 11th August) What a night! This man is truly amazing and has to be seen live to allow you to fully appreciate how talented he actually is. He is a wonderful storyteller, a phenomenal musician and he has an imagination that takes you to places you could never dream of. As if that is not enough, Nick is one of the most humble and unassuming people you could come to meet and is happy to take the time to speak to you after his gig. What more can I say!

A lovely man, a great set (spanning his career plus some well chosen covers), and a new effects pedal!

I saw the first of Nick Harper's 5 Nights in Harperspace and as ever it was an absolute joy. The show is both a career retrospective and also forward looking, including a tale of recording his next album Earth Day Blue in the hallowed Abbey Road Studio 2 followed by a rousing singalong of 'No One Works Alone' from that album. There's never a dull moment with the man they call Harpic - there were both laughs and joyful tears over the hour. We in Edinburgh are very lucky that the Fringe is enlivened by his music and sparkling presence every August - if there's any musical justice, everyone would know and love just how fab he is.
