Nick’s return to the Fringe is a time machine of a show, travelling effortlessly from his beloved earlier songs to an extended preview of his upcoming album Tempus Fugitive. These songs may be new but the sentiments are universal - love, age, vulnerability, looking back on life as it goes by too quickly. In particular, the album’s title track is a sprawling song cycle which fits right in with Nick’s finest and drags you into the time machine with him, Davey Graham and Hedy Lamarr. I know it could be cliched to say I laughed and cried during the show, but they’re cliches because they are true. Nick is a true musical treasure and you need him and this diamond of a show in your life.

Fantastic show last night Nick…thank you!
Nick’s musicality, guitar and astounding vocals leave me in awe. Love the new songs.. Highlight of the show for me : A soaring version of She Rules My World. All the best for the next four nights. Not to be missed x
